Well, whether you are a Trekkie or a Star Wars fan, that was definitely COOL! I wonder how it would be to match Kirk and Vader? Kirk was always much less diplomatic than Picard, more prone to shoot first and ask questions later.

one death star could own one borg cube

CONTINUED... So at 50% efficiency and a loss of 50% of the enrgy into space at impact the photon torp is anywhere on average 32megatons the tsar bomb was more powerful than that and that is confirmed by the DS9 tech manual. You've been shot out of the sky trektard. give up asperger douche, Resistance to logic is futile.
By: blacksun2175. on 06 Oct 08, 19:05:16
what most trektards forget about that scene is they were trying to CAPTURE the falcon not destroy it. Remember vader was trying to capture luke and they assumed he was on the falcon. As for the firepower figure you're all wrong on that one. 1.5kg of matter fused with the exact amount of anti matter at 100% EFFICIENCY is roughly 64 MEGATONS and since it's IMPOSSIBLE to get 100% EFFICIENCY the actual yield is much lower then the remaining blast only imparts 50% of it's energy into the target.

Yet in the empire strikes back vader's fleet was going to bomb the rebel shield generator from OUTSIDE the hoth system. The New Jedi Order books place their range at over a light-minute range and the AOTC:ICS confirms it. Those are official sources as opposed to your because I say so bullshit. That crap was taken from RSA's site. That guy is an idiot who argued with lucasfilm employees over the canon policy and lost. The guy says only the movies are canon despite lucas saying otherwise.
By: blacksun2175. on 06 Oct 08, 18:53:32
Non-official website run by people who don't work for lucasfilm. The book where my info comes from is written by an astrophysisist and was officially accepted as lucasfilm canon. Lets see who i'll belive... a non official site or... an official book written by Dr. Saxton...HMMMM
By: ZLHAspergerguy. on 06 Oct 08, 17:58:10
Says you. The official material published by Lucasfilm also decipates them ONLY BEING IN VISUAL RANGE. To prove my theory I'll bring you this example, the falcon duels with aggresor the aggresor is 1,600 meters long falcon is 60 the falcon goes at nearly point blank range which is a very bad tactic for your solo. Also it takes the falcon a couple of seconds to cross the destroyer. slower than enterprise about 178 MEga meters per second. if your theory was true then you wouldn't see any battles

(And given 100-megaton torpedoes, and the general gist from battle scenes that photon torpedos are 2-5 times more powerful than phasers, 1-10 megaton phasers (~ 4,000 - 40,000 TJ) wouldn't be too difficult to argue for at all. That could be driven up as high as 20-50 megatons (~83 - 209 PJ (1000xTJ)) to keep with the "gist" ratio.) Final Tally: Gigawatt-range, minimum. star wars is below 3,000 TJ for one of the ship's largest weapons

Actually where you get your sources is just one person. My website is made by both warsies and trekies.
By: LordReserei. on 06 Oct 08, 15:40:12
as much as I love Star Trek, I think based on facts drawn from science, technology and the fact that I've my fleets have been pwned many a time on ST: Bridge Commander. I think that The Federation wouldn't have the slightest chance against the Empire unless the on The Federation's side extremely outnumbered The Empire and even then there wouldn't be much left.
By: thedarkcourtsjester. on 06 Oct 08, 13:13:49
the average ship in startreck is less than half the size of a the size of a basic imperial class star destroyer, and an executor class is what three times the size of spacedock. on the startreck side, each photon torpedo is roughly 10-40 megatons depending on efficiency of combination of antimater.

nice done, you're skilled
By: Perion. on 06 Oct 08, 10:27:46
or better yet get an education in science and engineering, everyone who has a scientific background and engineering background knows the truth, wonder why there aren't anyone on the star trek side of the vs debate (officially or unofficially, as in supporting the figures) who are astrophysicists and engineers? it's because all the REAL scientists know that Star Wars is more powerful!
By: Perion. on 06 Oct 08, 10:25:22
and Darkstar (the guy who runs stvs sw . net) can be trusted? lol that guy argues with the authors of star wars books because he interpreted their words differently from the way they wrote them, he has no engineering background and knows nothing of the way things work. guys, just because it says 200 gigatons doesn't necessarily mean it has the same blast radius of a 200 gigaton nuke, just that amount of force applied to the target. and we didn't get our infos from wikias, at least I don't.

"Average fire power on phasers on the Defiant 4,000-40,000 TW." Bullshit the ENT-D couldn't generate more than a terrawatt Geordi mentioned it twice and even riker himself confirmed it, if the the big D's warpcore can't generate a terrawatt the how is the defiant's weapons going to generate 40,000tw? Give it up Zach, you're a little kid who's still in middle school grow up a little then come back when you can argue RESONABLY with ADULTS.
By: blacksun2175. on 06 Oct 08, 08:20:31
"A megaton is the size of a big nuclear explosion." No one is arguing that it's not. "That means a single x-wing should be able to destroy the Executor in a couple shots." Bullshit the executor was made to take out entire fleets 1 x-wing couldn't kill one. "Firepower on the biggest ISD 3,000 TW" Wrong again aspergerdouche, the heavy turbolasers on an ISD can slag a planet.
By: blacksun2175. on 06 Oct 08, 08:16:33
"For some reason I doubt you." Doubt all you wan't it's still true. "The ISD"S range is actually 2,000 kilometers." Says you. The OFFICIAL material published by LUCASFILM states the turbolaser ranges are in the light minute range that's OFFICIAL.

Brtshstel wins for being totally not lame, as opposed to most people who discuss this. Though personally, I have to say that I really enjoy discussing this topic with people capable of going about it in a civil and dignified manner. It is, at the very least, an amusing exercise.
By: DesipioCaesar. on 06 Oct 08, 00:35:23
I have one word: Klingons. Enough said.
By: brtshstel. on 05 Oct 08, 23:13:07
Yeah, fuck the prequel trilogy. The RA+EAL Star Wars is all about the Rebel Alliance and the Empire engulfed in the Galactic Civil War and the battle between the last surviving Jedi and Sith.
By: brtshstel. on 05 Oct 08, 23:06:10
Trek and Wars cannont be compared logically. They are two entirely different entities each with their own established universe and physics. Since the two also have such a strong, devoted fanbase, any scenario with a victor will be an exercise of bias which will step on the toes of the non-winning side's fanbase. I like Trek-tech better than Wars-tech, but im not going to rattle off who would win because you can't compare the two. Forget "apples to oranges," try "bananas to potatoes."
