i had the very same experience nameofthepen, i would highly recommend everyone give up tv, it's an amazing liberating feeling and the detox is pretty short. at least with the internet there is a vast amount of choices and it is viewer driven, you decide the content so it is harder to be manipulated. but it's all around us and wears a person down over time, i just think with tv it happens very quickly and completely. revolt!

Hi nameofthepen, I know exactly what you mean about the TV - I managed to kick the habit about 8 years ago - I didn't give mine away though, I kept it for watching selected downloads on my laptop - I just disconnected from the Broadcasters! - lol More people need to wake up to all the NLP stuff around us - I've been studying it for about 4 years now, and I see it everywhere - when you know about it, it's like getting a pair of the sunglasses from John Carpenter's film, 'They Live'.

crazations - Great point about knowing about this stuff breaking the "spell"! An additional thing for me is what happened after I gave away my nice TV 2 years ago. OK, yeah, I thought I would die from withdrawal for the first couple months, lol. But as time went on, I began to notice that I was becoming less and less psychically influenced by people around me - as if I had disconnected some mental cable from the "herd mind".
