It seems that ChrisDuffy7 and the shakemiester have no problem in displaying their rampant homophobia to the world, as well as revealing that musically they have no sense or class. I Love both U2 AND PSB. But you know what? I like the PSB version better....because you can dance to it. PSB were also paying tribute to the song as well as lampooning the (obviously!) bloated hugeness of what U2 had become. Also, U2 didn't sue them for what they did either.

The thing is this that Koyaanisqatsi it's a perfect archetype of human development, and in the 80's, the US was by far the country experiencing the dramatic consequencies of our technological development. That's why I think it's an universal representation of mankind, rather than US society. United States has been the model that ignited the extension of advanced capitalism pattern. Just my opinion. Well I unmderstamd. Especially the 747s coming out of the hot air, somehow seeming too fragile to being sent up into the skies to really safely transport hundreds of people, accompanied by the soundtrack featuring a large human choir. There is a spooky quality to it, yet I love it: there is something fascinatring and even soothing about this movie. I fine Ron Fricke's Baraka far more scary, since it reaches cosmic dimensions. 'Koya' remains mainly: the US are doing wrong, but they can't help it.

This might be a little left field, but I would also recommend some of Chaplin's movies like "the Kid" as he composed the music for most of his films and they had a direct impact on the storytelling. If nothing else, they are still awsome pictures.

i heard so much about this movie i went out and bought the dvd without really knowing what to expect...so i watched it with my mate on a projection screen and instantly loved it! the music and visuals are so evocative and it's never boring as you might expect a film with no narrative or dialogue to be...it's really uplifting and sad and thought provoking at the same time...obviously helps if you've had a big spliff and a couple of jars first! Unique

I was in college in 1987, when a ukelele-toting weird guy around campus whom I halfway-knew/tolerated stopped by our room and persuaded us to smoke a joint and watch this film. It was a mind-blowing masterpiece then, and revisiting it via these fragments still blows my mind. Apparently, some sequences have been used for the latest GTA release. This film represents one of the last great artistic marriages of live film and musical score. Most of this amazing footage today would be CGI. Brilliant.

What's interesting is that the two scary scenes aren't really graphic...Large Marge is just a goofy stop motion puppet and the evil surgeon is just a guy in '40s surgical garb with an extra row of teeth painted on his lips and a devil's smile.

There was something I loved about this scene. I saw this movie about age 7...I can see how it can be scary for kids younger...but I loved this scene, and the music. The hallway reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, and this whole movie reminds me of the circus..or McDonalds...or this Barnum and Baily magazine I used to have when I was younger.

Me too! I hadn't watched it for probably 10 years when I got it for Christmas last year, and then when I saw this part, I felt pangs of terror coming back to me and I realized...this movie is why I hate clowns so much. It's weird how much stuff affects you even years later.

I remember this series quite well, especially the theme song which I loved when I was a kid. It is sung by Cree Summer, who also did the voice for Inspector Gadget's niece and went on to do voices in Rugrats. I don't think Owl TV was shown for very long in the UK. Our version also had inserts featuring British presenter Michaela Strachan (I'm not sure what they replaced from the Canadian version).
