Interestingly the Kellerville-Allison Tornado is rated F0 because it hit such a rural area that it didn't hit anything. But the V.O.R.T.E.X. probes recorded winds in the F5 range. It's just one of the quirkinesses of the Fujita Scale that damage trumps wind speed when it comes to the ratings of tornadoes.

Yes, back on June 8th 1995 one of several tornadoes that occured that day. A large half mile wide tornado near Kellerville, Texas. The tornado we witnessed near Girard Kansas on May 4th 2003 was rated F-4 but looked it may have been an F-5 when we saw it This was the most violently rotating tornado I have ever seen.

I'll never forget Fran, she took most of our roof (columbus county) I remember the walls shaking. The roar from the wind is undescribable, not like an on and off gust, but a constant roar. The film site was on a east/west farm road 2320 about mid-way between north/south roads 208 and 1081 in northern Kent county. I was looking first to the west, the tornado traveled from my west to northeast, the whole event was approx. 30 minutes. These roads are seen on a county map or Texas Atlas.

Thats incredible, that tornadoe missed the house i live in now by less than a mile. You can still see the debris trail from that tornadoe 5 years later. Lots of trees and limbs laying down where it went through.

Those were birds, they were fighting the SW winds that reached our location, I estimate about 35mph at that moment. The winds around us increased to about 50mph when we were closest to the tornado as it was crossing the road.

The tornado is totally obscurred in dirt and debris during the time from when we turned north to get into position to watch it cross the road. Early on there are cloud tags seen at a fair distance rotating around the tornado. I estimate this tornado was moving at about 40kts to the east.
