To wakeboarder199: NO one knows what went through their heads when they wrote songs! You aren't any different. To qoouap: Paul and Ringo are only reminders of what the world could have been but isn't. Just cuz they're were great, doesn't mean they are. I do have to give Ringo credit for realizing that he won't ever have the Beatles back. Paul on the other hand tries to come out with music and lands flat on his face. We need the Beatles back!!

Paul merged 2 names together; Eleanor was the name of the actress Eleanor Bron who was in Help!, and Rigby was the name of a store in Bristol, they sold wine and spirits I think. He originally created the name Daisy Hawkins, but he eventually changed it, because Eleanor Rigby sounded more natural. There's also a gravestone in a church in liverpool with that name, and John and Paul used to sunbathe there. So really, her identity's a bit of a mystery.
