In between TAS and TMP was Star Trek: Phase 2 which was going to be the next series on a newly created television channel owned by Paramount. When the channel idea was scrapped, so was Phase 2. However, the pilot for Phase 2 "In Thy Image" was adapted into Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

This is so moving. I think it's amazing how the timeline is kept to, with parts of Generations being separated by some of the TV shows, and the First Contact scene occurring in it's initial spot, and then reappearing when they go back in time. Excellent use of the Guardian of Forever as the backdrop. And that song is just great!!!

Both DS 9 and VOY have seen relaunches in the form of the novels. There is currently a story arc about a Borg invasion of the Federation {something fans have speculated about for many years}. If you'd like, I'd be happy to provide the list of books that deal with this story arc.

Star Trek: The Animated Series was on the air in 1973-74. Star Trek: The Motion Picture was released in 1979.

Damn, I miss those shows. Although there is Movie XI on the way, I want sorylines AFTER DS9 and Voyager. They should GO ON with the timeline, not going back.
