Hi cubbs357! Thank you for replying to my meesage without resorting to abuse. My comment was, of course, a joke, in case any of the more cerebrally challenged among you were preparing some avalanche of abuse. I like Joe Cocker and I think this was a really radical interpretation of what had hitherto been a chirpy pop song. It's got balls!

The keyboards mixed in with the drums are the shit joe cocker is great it has an unexplainable sound.
By: Iandrvarley. on 11 Oct 08, 08:13:18
I'm surprised he had any friends left after that.

About attribution: As I recall, long ago Ringo said "John wrote it. He has soul, does John."

Too bad his air guitar isnt half as good as his voice... but hey... makes for hella stage presence!
By: rudilemus. on 09 Oct 08, 19:15:39
Plus the only voice i can compare Joe Cocker to is to David Byron from Uriah Heep.
By: rudilemus. on 09 Oct 08, 19:14:56
wtf what do any of you know about classic rock... you had to live it to really know what it means.
By: Taylorxxoo. on 09 Oct 08, 16:24:49
what the hell ringos original song is much better then this no offence its much faster and so much sweeter cause he actually wrote it about his friends, and didn't just steal it from someone.

Great performance. If you're going to cover the beatles, thats how you do it. Also, there are not enough men rockin the muttonchops these days.

The Lord Jesus Christ is coming soon. Are you ready? You can be! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Behold the Lord Jesus Christ is coming soon! Call upon the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be ready!

A rare worthwhile Ray Charles-alike performances in the sunami of "others" wishing they had the soul exuded by most African-Americans (see "Ray Charles" in Wikipedia). Familiar w a few accounts for Cocker's physical movements (e.g. epilepsy; a recent auto accident) I have nothing left to add but that his soul (also searchable in Wiki & all religious texts since the dawn of human history) is laid bare here in a way Euros are generally culturally (tho not racially) incapable of. Good luck.

not a great performance indeed. He sounds like his jaw or tongue is messed up (drugs?) and the original is a lot better.
