"all the fallen leaves will find their branches again"? awesome song. all 4:05 of it. god, i love being from the south.

it's funny how the whigs started off with a sound indebted to the wheezy, sludgy, and wistful sound of dinosaur and then went in a more "sophisticated", dark direction. not that i'm trying to dismiss these guys at all, because i like them; it's just weird thinking of blackberry belle's greg dulli emulating j. mascis back in the day. not to mention, i spy a rickenbacker bass... i'm just glad that they ended up finding their own sound instead of becoming a dino jr. that was safe for consumers.

BEST VIDEO EVER!!! Why did someone say Greg's missed? The Afghan Whigs ROCKED. Then he's made 4 Twilight Singers CD's. Now he's made a CD with Mark Lanagan called The Gutter Twins that is KILLER as well. I like the Whigs the best out of em all but Greg always makes great music. Saw the Whigs live and The Twightlight Singers in Minneapolis, both GREAT SHOWS.

These guys were always on the brink... One near "hit" song after another, and this was the first. Part of me LOVES that they are one of my secrect treasures, but in the end, these guys deserved so much more. Great band. Dulli...GREAT frontman. Missed very much.

No they weren`t - they just ripped off Stevie Wonders "Superstition," like The Stereophonics did with their song Mr Writer - both the Afghan Whigs and Stereophonics admitted this (at least). If you don`t believe me then listen to Superstition one of the great songs of the 70`s and also Mr Writer.

in the documentary released a year or two ago, there was an interview with greg dulli where he talked about the name. he said 'whigs' came from 19th century political party, and 'afghan' came from the place their favorite weed was grown. it always has been difficult to pick up on his sarcasm in interviews, though, so who's to say whether this is accurate or not. =)
