This sux! I hope youngsters will watch indoor arena and stadium videos of the WHO and get a better appreciation for them. This sounds like they are playing in The Cavern, and just using toy speakers/PA/amps that this TV Station provided. Oh well, a gig is a gig, and the WHO had to endure 100s of dinky forums like this before rock people woke up and realized that the Beatles and Stones were no talent losers, LOL!

Eisegesis is reading something into the text that isn't there. Exegesis is just saying what it says. To say that the text says, "which is to heal others in the name of the Lord" is a clear case of eisegesis. It is nowhere in the text. In fact, John 7 isn't even talking about healings. It's talking about the Pharisee's unbelief and Jesus' teaching. It's best to stick to what God is actually trying to tell us and not add or take away from it.

I understand, and I thought that's what Matthew 7:1-5 was talking about, too, for a long time until I looked at the context. Who is Jesus talking to there? Is he talking to disciples or hypocritical Pharisees? He's talking to the latter. If we were to take the interpretation that he's talking to everyone in Matthew 7:1-5 then obviously the Bible contradicts itself in John 7:24 and is no longer valuable. The interpretation is that he was talking to those who used unrighteous judgment in 7:1-5.

Thanks for the replies Lane.Please pardon me if I drag this on.I am just seeking more understanding of God's words. In Matt 7:1-5 Jesus taught us not to judge others because we have our own dirt to cleanup before we can judge or help others; if we are sinners, then we are not clean, therefore how can we judge righteously if we have dirt on us? and how can we have a favorable relationship with God if we see ourselves righteous enough to judge others? i just think love is better than judgement.

I completely agree. there are those that use God's promise of salvation to acquire worldly possessions. But the ONE thing i'm always very careful and concerned about is my personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. I am not perfect; so i try NOT to judge or talk about how other people(Christians or not) live their lives or how they do things. The 1st one states that light and dark was created and separated on the FIRST day of creation while the 2nd verse states that this happens on the FOURTH day. About the slavery thing, I can't really explain it to you (partly because I don't know it a lot about it) but slavery 200+ years ago was really driven by hatred and racism. Man I wish it was that clear!It's not. For every scripture I have supporting my beliefs another "bible believer" is always there to shoot me down with a contrary scripture. The bible contains so much that it's often contradictory. And therefor requires biblical gymnastics in order to keep the bible infallible. The 1st chapter of Genesis requires it! GE GE 1:3-5 vs. 1:14-19. Another example I struggle with is slavery. It's illegal today but a biblically legitimate practice.

Church is made out of believers for the glory of God and that is what he's speaking about. Jesus told us to preach the Gospel to the lost. I am totally against it, I am for the true word of God being preached without it being sugar coated so "so and so" doesn't get offended. He's not a 'noob', he's used to driving Le Mans prototypes and Super GT cars around race tracks, not rally cars around small touge courses. He was put in the rally car because you'd expect that to win, so with him in that and the more experienced touge guy in the road car it was to balance it out.
