This album is Ministry lite. It has all the elements of darkness and aggression that became Al's trademark later. It's a very good album in any case. 'Every day is Halloween' (12" single) was one of the coolest songs of the 80s. I was a teen then, and when I first heard it, I was floored. Still am. Wish there was a vid for it. All Al's stuff kicks ass.

Though this is probably my favorite track off 'With Sympathy' - which is a great cheesy faux goth pop album on its own - I do have to agree that I think it's a crock that he was "forced" into making this record. I love later, harder, faster Ministry, but I think he resented this album because it didn't gel with his strung out speed industrial metal thraser image that made him popular.

Definitely not the best track on With Sympathy, but a good enough song. I like industrial, but I just can't get down with Ministry's stuff after this . . . prefer Cabaret Voltaire from the same era. . . Would have loved to have seen an Every Day Is Halloween video . . . Does anyone buy Al saying he was pressured into making a pop record? I think thats the biggest crock . . . Clearly, he loves this stuff! Last track on the record (She's Got A Cause) is the best, IMHO.

at the time, there was little that was comparable and still got coveted MTV airplay. this is a good song! for some reason, i think it would have appealed to kids who were more into punk or artsy post-punk bands, and those that were "outcast" in the teen years.

Original Post-punk is a Goth genre, look at bands like Joy Division. The Post-punk we know today is like The Infadels and The Killers. They might undoubtably have taken influences from the original Post-punk bands, but they are indie and mainstream, which the original Post-punk was not. She Wants Revenge is a Post-punk/Darkwave Crossover with alot of influences to The Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Joy Division and even The Cure. They might sound mainstream, but thats the modern technology.

Stinkin' AWESOME. If it hadn't been for the Long Ryders' cover of the GP cover if this song, I'd have never been intro'd to real country music. When I was 16, all the old-school country stars were making the most shit-awful music of their careers (think Kenny & Dolly singing Islands in the Stream). This stuff was utterly unknown to my generation, much to it's detriment. Long live Waylon.

teamStalwart, that was great. I actually LIKED the cardboard props, which were well made and beautifully painted. I assumed the choice was made for creative rather than financial reasons; after all the whole song is the story of a guy telling a story, so making it obvious that none of this is actually happening isn't a bad thing. But I do agree that the stepfather could have done a lot better, particularly during the final scene.

Why do you presume that the previous posters on this video write such nice comments just to flatter the makers of this video? They might just be able to see past the flaws in the production, and appreciate that a good job they've actually done putting together this thing.
