I totally agree with you. They are real musicians who can write riffs, solos, melodies etc etc. Many of our favourite bands made an excellent transition into the "grunge" style unfortunately the masses jumped fence and backed the likes of Nirvana etc. Where the fuck are they now? Careful guys. There was a complete movie uploaded not long ago which has since been taken down. That usually happens on YT when the film's copyright owner gets involved. It seems that short dedications and trailers are tolerated but the movie is much better on a big screen than it is on a tiny, grainy one. I've spent the bucks and you get the quality the film deserves. The DVD is available commercially; you should be able to get hold of it quite easily.

Sorry for this late reply. This is DVD of the theatrical one, not the director's cut. I think its content is the same with your VHS. In Japan, this DVD was released in 2000.

It didn't happen at all! This is a fictional story; for one thing, Valentine's Day occured in 1900 on a Wednesday, not a Saturday, as the film portrays! And here's something weird-in the film that's available on demand from Comcast, this part's been cut out!! Edited for VOD, you might say!

I don't mean to disappoint, but we should be realistic...the story is fiction...great fiction and very believable in the way it has been written. However, the location IS a real place and it is possible to become disorientated while walking up its tracks. Lots of people love going there to visit. Perhaps someone getting lost in its labyrinths in the past was one of the inspirations to the story. It's one of my favourites too.

The sound quality is superb and it was recorded 76 years ago. Fantastic. This song brings back so many memories ,Uncle Mac and Children´s Favourites,playing this record ,Sparky and the magic piano and Burl Ives singing about an old woman who swallowed a fly etc. Happy days. We kids did n`t have 1000 tv stations to watch, internet, computers, messenger ,facebook and all the trivia that is around today. I would n´t mind betting though we were a darn sight happier, than kids today..
