Its great that pedigree donates money for dogs looking for a home. What the commercial doesn't tell you is that this food sucks. It contains only 4% meat instead of 60% which would be natural for a dog. It also contains preservatives (chemicals) which are harmful and sugar which creates overweight. Better donate directly to homeless dogs and feed your own dog something that won't make him ill.

Mars is greedy & lying about the Pedigree recall. I reported my dog getting sick from CANNED Pedigree in August; I called them back today & they still claim canned Pedigree is not part of the Salmonella recall. I read blogs on pet sites tonight & others report the same issue. Mars is lying just like Menu Foods lied. I hope the executives go to jail.

Pedigree is doing commercials on this, trying to appeal to America with the "aww" factor. It's ironic how they do a commercial on shelter dogs, yet they put "meat & bone meal" in their food. "Meat & bone meal" is a vague ingredient. It can't be defined as a single protein source because there isn't one. It's an ingredient that comes from rendering plants, where dead animals are all mushed together into "meat & bone meal." Where do a majority of the animals come from? Euthanized animals.

Science diet, IS, high quality. Although most owners come in with fat dogs that have eaten human food or junky grocery store stuff. Resently, dogs on Science Diet have done better. Well I think you need you eyes tested (perhaps under the KC/BVA scheme) the IC report was only on 10 breeds!!! NOT the 206 recognised by the KC!!! and I repeat that new breeds to ARE not allowed to the full register unless the are genetics diverse enough. lehlam your claim remains false. None of the currently recognised breeds of dog have sustainable gene pools when you take out all the "Crocks" from the pool. The KC cannot substantiate that these gene pools are large enough and viable at the point at which they deem to "recognise" the breeds. Go check IC research again. pedigree is not good for the dogs. their meat is made up of by-products which is harmful. it also contains corn that only servers as a filler (dogs can't digest corn) and grains (cause of allergies. it is rated as a 1-star dogfood by dog analyst.

The commercial is brillent. Too bad the food isn't any good. I do like that they donate to shelter dogs though. More companies should follow suit.

well im glad the nashville association got help to find a new facility, you noe, if anyone noes of anyhtign the oshawa humane society is in DESPERATE need of new place as well our building is way to small for the amount of animals we take in and it is constantly needing repairs! i hope someine can help out the oshwawa humane society!
