Excellent everyone loves condescending attitudes...especially from people three years older that have apparently (no?) musical experience, as opposed to someone playing music since extremely early childhood. But I won't create anymore conflict :). Ah and my violin teacher played with yanni for a long period of time and knew him but that doesn't really matter of course because I'm too young.

a mi lo que me gusta de colombia es la musica,es tan divertida y por supuesto su cafe,y eso de la violencia no es exclusivo de colombia porque,lamentablemente en toda latinoamerica hay ladrones,desde mexico hasta chile,yo estuve en bogota y me encanto la gente,muy calurosa,parecida a la de mi pais Perú.saludos!

It's a personal thing. Some conductors seem to sjust tand there and keep the beat; others almost act out every note of the music. It always comes down to whether the music works, not what the conductor looks like while he conducts. Besides, most of the work is done in rehearsal; in the actual performance, the conductor is there to make sure things stay on track.

Hey, be that as it may, often people who are "the top of their field" do incorrect things as part of their technique. Personally, I'd say that bouncing your head on every beat is poor technique as it implies an accent. I'd say that conducting with your hand at and above face level is poor because it implies high larynx to the singer. But I do like how he indicates phrase shape. And I think that they sound fantastic! (how much of that is conductor and how much is good musicianship I cannot say)

why do people always get into this totally ridiculous argument whether or not great inspiration comes from god? Wouldn't it be a lot more interesting and fulfilling if we spoke some more about the music itself, and not so much about where the inspiration for it comes from? by all "art music composers" im assuming u mean the ones who lived in a time where almost all the people believed in god. also, this phenomenon occurred because people were trained in this style within the church, its church musik, and, anyone who was making a career out of composing musik was doing it for the church, otherwise u would be picking potatoes or making fuckin horseshoes or something, and maybe writing musik in your freetime, if you had any.

Also, my point was that many atheists think, if indirectly, that the greatest minds in history did not believe in God. The brilliance that is Bach poses definite problems to this theory. There is no way to spoil this film. I saw it a few years ago where the S.F. Symphony and a chorus performed a specially written score. They could have been playing and singing "Old MacDonald Had a Farm," it didn't matter. No wonder Rene Falconetti's performance is generally regarded as the finest on film.

For a couple reasons.. She wants to sing HER songs, not someone elses. She's just singing old Nightwish songs in honour because she knows thats what got her where she is. She's just singing the ones that fans really want to hear. I believe she doesn't sing more out of respect for Tuomas and the rest of the band, but I don't know her so I can't say that. What it all comes down to is ultimately, she just doesn't want to.
