i once read that karajan wasn't really happy about the way this clip was shot. The instruments are the center of attention and karajan himself is often blurred out or shot frontal (he always wanted to be shot from the side since he thought he looked better). it's interesting for me since i like this clip the most out of all movies he had made.

But given that this piece is in the standard canon of classical music, I am sure every member in the orchestra has played it at least a dozen times and Karjan is one of the best conductors of all time, so it is no surprise that they are good.
