Coming from the same era as this, and this being the same days I was out in clubs dancing with my friends, all those foot moves in the video by Cass and Michelle were about the most common foot moves made by both guys and gals when we danced in clubs. I don't think it had a name, it was just something that came naturally when dancing to this type of music. Those were fun days. I miss the days of simple dancing to music like this. From my own observations, whenever Blue Monday was lame live, it was because it was hard to duplicate the electronic beats in those days, plus Barney sometime couldn't decide which voice pitch to sing. The more recent live performances are much better and Barney has finally decided to stick with the studio voice pitch.

Well I heard of many guitar players trying to pick up Stevie's stuff, but none have played even half a good as him! Stevie was one of a kind, special and full of talent! Stevie Ray's style is one of the hardest ever to pick to play, and he had an amazing voice! BTW. SRV is one of the best tehnically skilled guitar players ever, so I think all that crap you said that someone can pull of what he did is stupid and fake, cause nobody can! He is a god and nobody touches Stevie Ray!

His style of playing, his versatility, his tone, feel and sound is all his, and what is inovative! His style is inovative! You gotta realise that at the time you had many guitar players that were about the same, and doing nothing special and big, and than all of a sudden comes SRV, with something raw, magical, never seen before, and 100% pure honesty and natural! Microtonal bending is what I meant. And it has a lot to do with blues and indian music in general. But you're right there's no point in arguing. Just realize that when someone bends crazy like Albert or Buddy Guy it's intentional, and not out of tune or sloppy. Albert's hands were HUGE and he could bend notes every which way with ease!

Naw, WolfPack, you aren't the only guy replying. It's a pretty decent song. They are a talented band. I saw them last night in Reno and they sounded awesome. Seeing a band live usually makes or breaks my opinion about them but they performed well and nobody seemed disappointed with Sisely Treasure. Carah was awesome and Sisely definitely has to overcome impossible expectations but she did very well IMO.

I think that people who are not open to different styles and new ways of doing things in music do not really love music. If you love music you just open your ears, listen and either enjoy, or, if you don't like what you hear, turn it off and listen to something else. I don't understand the violence of some commentators. If you really like the original version it is strange that you don't like a cover that captures its essence, as this one does.

I work in a Borders bookstore...and when this movie came out all my co-workers thought this movie stole my life story when it comes to Jack Black's character....cause long before this movie was made and the book was written that is exactly how I acted at work man.
