They are what they funkstyles have evolved into. If people hadn't started branching off and adapting, then hip hop would never have gone anywhere beyond funkstyles, and would be pretty boring now. It's like classical vs. jazz piano. Yes, classical piano is important, and no one SHOULD criticize the artistry of that, but jazz came from the evolution of classical, and if you cannot properly play classical piano, then you cannot TRULY appreciate jazz piano.

I watched this performance when it aired and it's so nice to have it on here to re-experience it over and over again.Talk about two mega talents though both have their own style they compliment each other with grace, style and honest emotion.Nice to see Keith perform some of the standard country proving that he's not just pop/rock cross-over country which so many try to accuse him of. I agree that this performance was outstanding. It was wonderful to see such different genres of country music harmonizing so perfectly. Charlie Daniels was just initiated last year, while Carrie Underwood was a few months ago. So obviously the Opry does not discriminate against what kind of country music you play to become a member.

My first look at Marty Wilde and I must say what a pleasant surprise. We should have heard more from him over the years. And still sounding so convincing in this recent performance. Not that Hank Marvin played on Cliff's original 1958 single version as he wasn't in the Drifters at the time.(He did play a great version on Cliff's Feb 1959 LP "Cliff").Marty sounds good as ever but I think suffered by being around at the same time as Cliff. His band The Wildcats are entwined in the Cliff/Shadows story-former Wildcats Brian Locking & Brian Bennett being more known for being Shadows. Why did Hank forgo his classic sound for this track-it makes him sound like any other guitarist.
