i don't think u need scientific breakthrough to achieve democracy. but this is not to say tibet has never had scientific breakthrough. the west just happened to achieve democracy faster than the rest. but tibetans have enjoyed freedom longer than anybody. what's democracy when there is no freedom.

Sure! The Khata (white or colored silk scarf) is a sign of greeting, congratulations or respect. It is symbolic of a garland of flowers. Frequently singers will be given a Khata by an audience member who thinks that their performance is particularily noteworthy. In some shows the singer will literally be COVERED in Khatas.
