A Galaxy Class is 642m with 42 decks, a Constitution Class is 289m (don't know the decks). An Excelsior Class is about halfway between. A Galaxy has a lot of volume, but it's about 3/4 times the size of a Constitution in length, width and height.

that is not true the galaxy class is never 4 times bigger than the excelsior. the enterprise e is a bit slighter than the galaxy and has about the same length. The enterprise e is about 700 metres long, so the excelsior would be about 166 metres and the constitution about 88 metres... NEVER!

Don't forget the borg has transwrap technologies and suicide runs will not stop the borg. The borg has different class of cubes and the heavily armor tactical cubes will not be destroyed easily with simple suicide bomber. Last but not least, borg is still one of the best hand to hand combat race, only second to 8974. Dominion can be crushed by the borg easily if the borg just assimilate 1 dominion soldier found out all about the dominions command structure and assimilate the founders.

It was said in the series that Fed shields could not withstand dominion weapons and that Fed weapons (other than the Defiant) could effect Dominion shields. The problem is that the Borg are direct and (thus) predictable; the Dominion are sneaky and weaken your from the inside out before ever firing a shot. Really, all the Dominion could really do is develop the mathematical paradox (a la "I, Borg") and destroy them from the inside out. I assure you, the Borg are no match for the Dominion.

And if you lace that baby with explosives and re-clone the crew, that entire Borg will go down. The Borg can send as many cubes as they want because they'll always been more Dominion survivors than Borg. The Dominion will still win.

...because they were in danger of losing it all. Because of the nature of the adventures had changed. Because DS9 relied more on character development and the interaction. Because of this and so much more, DS9 is the best series. Now I understand some will disagree and they are entitled to their independant opinions without being insulted by myself or other DS9 fans. WTF??? Peterparker12...? First of all, to each his own. Second, there was no battle sequences in Star Trek's many television series that quite lived up to what DS9 layed forth. Third, in all the Star Trek movies and television series you never quite had the feeling that it could all be lost. Not even with the Borg. Because they were on a station and the action came to them, because they were in danger of losing it all...

I agree, people think the Valiant were the best of the best... until you consider all the COMMISSIONED officers that were, Lt Cmdrs, Captains, Admirals, so on and so forth. Officers who were 20 years more experienced and knew What they were fighting for, whereas the Valiant's Red Squad only were blinded by glory which ended up killing them.

Keeven is unique among the Vorta. He wasn't suppose to sacrifice the Jem'Hadar; he's a murderer in the Dominion's eyes when he did that, therefore is considered a traitor, or should I say "defective". sisko described the defiant as a warship, the first of a new generation of battle ships (Interpid and Soverign) designed to fight and defeat the Borg. Interpid and Soverign were made later and therefore were even more powerful. we also saw the defiant destroying several birds of prey in a single battle, while in an episode of TNG we saw the Enterprise D was defeated by just 2 birds of prey piloted by Ferengis. so the Defiant is definately more powerful than the Galaxy class

That is like Janeway attacking a borg tactical cube with her intrepid class. Of course the show would picture the Defiant as being a "super-weapon" the same goes for voyager. But in the overall star trek world, the defiant class ships are not known for being heavily armored ships. They are heavy attack fighters are far from being the most powerfull ships in the quadrant. The ship is put in spotlight because it is featured in the show. But it is no different from all other defiants.

True, but starships are always "the right way up", can switch to a rear view even though they're going faster than the light they'd be looking at etc. It's a tv show, I don't think it's meant to be taken too seriously and Star Trek's never given "real life" physics more than a passing look. Like how when a ships engines break down it stops moving, inspite of something in space moving indeffinitely until an opposing force is applied to it.

if the dominion went straight 2 war they would have won, the Feds had time 2 prepare like upgrading DS9's weapon systems , making shields that were more effective against dominion weapons, and building more ships. the doinion thought they were prepared 4 the Feds,but it was the Feds that was prepared 4 them.

Really? I thought that this was the show that everyone said was 'over inspired' by babylon 5 I didn't mind DS9 too much but the search wasn't a smart episode, sending the most advanced ship ALONE and having it captured. its no wonder the dominion were so prepared against the feds!

The Romulans got in the war after Sisko and Garak pulled their move. Ironically this was their finest hour, both the Tal Shiar (With Enabron Tain and the Obsidian Order) and then later the Rommies as a whole went after the Dominion to help save the Quadrant.

I agree up to a point. i think DS9 was a work in progress. It gradually got better. but yes the Dominion war saga really boostedits popularity. Also, characters like Nog, Rom, and the grand nagus made this so funny. I'd love to see a DS9-Next Generation motion picture.
