i think that maby daniel should have reraised on the turn, to get a read off of gus's hand. because i agree with most people here, gus could have bet the flop and turn with anything. if daniel reraises on turn hes basically saying to gus "i have a full house". and if gus wants to re-re raise or make more money on the river then daniel can only conclude that maby his smaller weak house is beaten. i know its easier said than done, what do u guys think?

Daniel is a great player, that is plainly proven, but i really think that was bad. It seemed to me on the turn and the river that Daniel may be suspicious of this hand although of course he was strong, he may have been acting but I dont think so. If so he should have checked the river too perhaps, or atleast perhaps folded to Gus's re-raise. Like Daniel said 55, 99, even 88 all beat him, and what doesn't beat him except one amazingly dangerous crazy big bluff ? Nothing.

Even though i have watched all seasons of HSP and seen the bigger pots, this hand is still my favourite of all of them!!..I love the 2 players and the way the cards come which makes it awesome!! The table talk imo between all the different players (even though its about props) and the random players that just turn up to visit makes the season 1+2 more of a relaxed environment compared to season 3+4

Gambling is a pure application of statistics, but you need to see lots of plays plus have a feeling of your opponent, luck, etc. All thoses factors mentally add up and that is the gut feeling / instinct you get at the end that is the result of if you win or lose. Lariat against Steve Williams at 4:26 is one of my personal favorites. Nothing like having a guy the size of Dr. Death go head over heels via Western Lariat. End of the clip with Hansen catching Kobashi in mid-air ranks highly with me as well. Props for people willing to take it since Hansen for the most part was swinging for the fences.

Gus played correctly, most players would think that his top two pairs are good considering the board. No straight possible no flush possible and you got a guy who is betting only a quarter of the pot, easy call for Hansen. I think he would avoid the disaster if the other guy goes all in in the river, and not having this full house. Screw that guy who says Thats normal Hansen poker. Gus is a great player, he played his hand correctly, but i agree hes got lucky on the river.

Randy is great here - WHEN he finally cuts loose (after 4:38)! Very subtle differences in immitators, great players of their own material, but Hendrix did what he did better than anybody will ever be able to do it. Satriani grabs one too many strings on the glissando down in Little Wing. Stevie Ray didn't "breath" like Hendrix. Clapton's is just ALL different - I guess that makes him the winner. Maybe I'm nitpicking but it makes a HUGE difference in the subtilty and beauty of the piece.
