Ich lerne Deutsch. Ich moechte mehr ueber Hamburg lernen. Zum Beispiel, was bedeutet "hummel hummel morsch morsch?" Und ist es wahr, dass Hamburger historisch Englandlieber sind? OK, I am just a pitiful private private with an instrument rating...and am nowhere near the abilities and experience of these pilots. Still, the plane was yawing about 40 degrees to the right about 50' up...why not abort it and go around? Low fuel? That was as close to a crash as I've ever seen in a non-testing crosswind landing. Man that was close.

Other factors that could have added to problem might be that when yawing you are speeding up one wing and slowing the other so the tendency is to roll with yaw especially if the wings have big dihedral angle (this one has quite big dihedral angle). I doubt this would have made much difference though and is easily compensated by ailerons. Although I see NCpilot79 says an airbus won't let you apply opp rudder and aileron so maybe it WAS a factor? That would be crazy though if it's true!

Wrong, I think it was a gust of wind that banked the plane left, not pilot error. You see the plane is flying into wind (facing right) but traveling in direction of runway (this = crosswind approach) Just before wheels hit ground the pilot (correctly) yaws the plane to face in the direction of travel (ie down r/way). At this point there is now a strong side component (from the right) to the airflow hitting the a/c. It might be made worse by getting 'trapped' between ground and r wing.

Wir haben das am Smastag auch in Hamburg gemacht. Es war sooo schön, nur zu empfehlen. Und es hat so gut geklappt! Wir waren zu fünft und haben in drei stunden bestimmt jeder 150 Menschen umarmt. :) Es war so toll. Meine Wangen taten weh vom vielen Lächeln. Es macht echt glücklich.

Djokovic came into this match with utmost confidence, crushing form. Winning Indian Wells and demolishing Nadal during the semis then claiming the Rome title. Despite how good he was, the match was turned amazing only because Nadal played sub-par clay tennis of his own. It was during the French Open when the difference between the 2 on clay revealed, and the gap is still HUGE. But this was a crazy match indeed, I loved it =)

Amazing! I am going to see The Police tribute band, Invisible Sun on Friday, Dec. 5. They are playing at Frank Cariola's Sundance in Rocky Point,NY. Thats 60 mile drive from Manhattan (90 mns). The Pretenders/ Cars tribute band , Talk Of The Town are also playing that same night. Bring back all the great music. I love The Police.
