anche io amo molto Paul Simon, anche se le prime cose sue che ho sentito sono le registrazioni dell'81 del concerto in central park.. (in particolare "me and julio" e "slip slidin away")e i dischi di S&G che mia madre sentiva da ragazza..poi ho cominciato a sentire i dischi solistici di Simon.. ho cominciato e non ho più smesso!!..anche se mi vergogno di dire che la prima volta che l'ho sentita, Graceland non mi sembrava gran chè.. ora per fortuna ho cambiato idea.. =)

If I remember correctly, Paul was declared a "banned person" under South Africa's security laws for this concert. Not the horribly restrictive experience that it would have been if he had been living there, but -as he said - an achievement to be proud of.

also nur damit cih das richtig verstehe: zu beginn des songs gehts darum das "ältere" erwachsene sich für ihr wahres alter immmer mehr schämen und jung bleiben wollen. wie das eben in der gesellschaft heutzutage ist. jung und schön = toll, alle anderen haben (angeblich) keine chance im leben. habt ihr auch schon gemerkt, dass viele kettcar songs in dem stil abgemischt sind, dass man die stimme meist nicht alles überlagert, sondern der synthie und der bass das ganze trägt? ich glaube seit "alles Vorstellen" haben die kettcar songs viel mehr druck und sind ne spur härter..

I've no doubt that the 4 lads are individually talented, but their production of their music is very corny. Its hamish, has no emotion and sounds like its made directly for the Irish American market. I know who they are so I know that they know where the money is to be made - that's what they're doing and fair play. But the music will only appeal to the lowest common denomiator who doesn't know any better.

Truly a crime this wasn't more widely heard back in the day. Then again, in a selfish kind of way, it's nice to have the Bible's music as a kind of secret friend. One of my all time favorite artists, their bittersweet music really has a hard time finding an equal.

Just bought Random Acts of Kindness on amazon just for this song, the extended version. Loved it nineteen years ago then lost my tape and hadn't heard it for over ten years. This was their best song then Skywriting and Honey Be Good imo. Boo still going strong.
