Thanks. It often amazes me how judgmental us Christians can be, even after scripture says, "Judge not lest ye be judged. For by the same judgment you judge others, you will be judged." If God, being perfect, reached out to us who are not perfect, can we not do the same to our fellow imperfect humans? God has proven to be inclusive...not exclusive. Let's hope God's church practices this principle. God bless.

She was there because she was THE HOST of the show...and it's not as if she's a hateful person. She has a great record for being a productive and kind public citizen. Rather than cast aspersions on personal life, let us remember that only he who is without sin should cast the first stone. CeCe has the most lovely smile. It's like sunshine. I'm not really religious but I was brought up in a religion and the singing always sounded so somber and serious. I never understood why they couldn't show the joy they have in worshipping God. The singing is as important in praising God as anything else. That's why I love this type of Gospel music.

Rather than mourning the fact that Ellen was on the show, shouldn't you be praising the Lord for the opportunity to share with her the Jesus that paid the price to save us all? The song says "I surrender all." You can surrender your sadness that Ellen was on the stage and thank God that Jesus died on the cross for her too. True enough. Few would dispute what you state here. People are people and there are plenty of folk who succeed pretty damn well at living by the golden rule whether or not they consider themselves religious. I've never believed in a god but I make a point of being kind to animals, even bugs. I saw The Soweto Gospel Choir perform at Stanford University this evening and most of their songs were in a language I don't understand. Their is singing is magical and the dancing was great as well.

Hi Alexandra, I do believe in science, too. But to me evolution is just another theory and requires faith as well- or even more. I find it much easier to believe in a creative genius, than to believe in coincidence. To me this song describes beautifully the quality of a relationship between the creator and a human beeing.
