I have a valvetronix its the 30 watt model. And its 30 quite watts. The speaker is laughable. You could find an 70's ford pickup and grab the stock speakers from that and "upgrade" your Vtron. However the vtron does have alot of usable tones. The vox/fender don't sound anything like the real thing. The marshall modes are the only ones I ever use and sound great if tweaked The effects are what saves this amp. All the effects have 3 different variables to adjust. The modulation type are great

I was just pointing out the fact that quite often you can find a pedal/amp marketed loudly to include tubes and they are still mostly solid state. It doesn't seem fair to let that fact out. To the other matter. Why shouldn't be "tube snob" if I prefer 11 different amps in same package that do the job instead of 1 amp sounding somewhat better? It's easier and cheaper. I do have played through tube amps and even built one.

As usual mesa just has too much stuff to play with. The Seymore Duncan can out perform this pedal plus you can grab instant classic tones without all the turning the pedal over and 6 knobs and plugging into the wrong jack etc... Oh and then there is the price.

To me the beauty of Mesa amps is the fact that you dont need distortion, boost, & sustain pedals anymore. If you were to plug this pedal up to a super reverb or twin reverb it would have been a much more dramatic effect.

That triode is same stuff that you find in regular tube amps. The sound is just created with solid state components and that lonely tube gives only authentic power amp distortion. I have Vox Valvetronix amplifier and that, too, sounds pretty much like real tube amp. This V-Twin has also op amps in the signal path. Lead channel has two or three op amps and clean just one.

Hmm, im not an expert in that kind of hardware stuff xD. I listen to a lot of pedals and buy those i think sounds best. So far Vox Tonelab is the best multi pedal i've heard :). I dont care if it's just "12ax7 double triode" that's in, it sounds amazing and like a true tube amp.

Sadly Vox Tonelab has only one 12ax7 double triode after a solidstate preamp/effects section. That tube pretends to be a poweramp and drives a transformer and speaker simulator. I wouldn't actually call it a tube pedal.

For those that care, this was the only piece of GG's work that he later disavowed! The video (and song) were part of GG's (brief) attempt to get into the mainstream and - believe it or not - onto MTV. I was there when the street scene was filmed (although i'm not in the video). GG RIP!

I play my Ibanez RG prestige trough an all-tube ENGL souvereign amp. I also play a Gibson ES135 trough a Roland JC90. The ENGL is great for high gain stuff, but it also has a great clean channel. With my 808tubescreamer and the clean channel the RG sounds superb! ENGL = very versatile!

Actually there are some very distinct rules to follow when it comes to pedal order. Now you can put them wherever you like but believe me when I say to get a killer sound you MUST put them in a specific order. Just do a google search for guitar pedal order and see what I mean, for instance if you go compressor, EQ, phaser, you will get a horrible sound but phaser, compressor eq will give a sweet sound that is more modifiable. So there are basic rules but they are made to be broken sometimes.

I'm not Justin lol. But regarding the question about pedal order, their are really no rules about which goes before what. Most people recommend placing the Wah first in the chain so it is receiving the purest possible signal from the guitar and nothing else. Again there are no rules for pedal order so try everything and see what sounds best to YOU!
