"NASA is opening their doors, that's how confident they are". This is not an independent person speaking. Why couldn't he say :"this is how much NASA want to prove that the moon landing took place". Mythbusters is not trying to get the truth. They are trying too prove something they know is a fact. Why is't there a defender of the moon hoax theory in this program? that would have been even more convincing.

I have a fondness for the Soyuz in all its iterations, myself. It's really the closest the human race has (until if and when the Dragon capsule starts getting produced)to a mass produced space capsule. No frills, just get up their and do stuff. That's it. It is so cheap we can have tourists go up, admittedly very well padded ones, so far. It's the same love one would have for a ford model T jalopy.

BR177: Continued..... Concerning ISS.The Russian Zvezda module could have been lifted by the Titan 4D. Most other systems were designed to be cooperative between nations. You left out one craft in your comments..the Shuttle. We developed it and have flown it 130+ times. Even with losing two,that still translates to a 98.5% success rate. The Russians copied our design,and flew it only once,unmanned. The shuttle is considered the most advanced aircraft in existence, with un-rivaled flexability.

As far as spacecraft go, why do you think Kennedy chose to go to the Moon as a goal ? Simple....the U.S. had a superior technological base which gave it a distinct advantage to do it first. In the 30's giant rigid framed airships were built, and after a famous accident their like was not seen again. No one could say that thirties technology is better then now, yet building a new one would require require tons of R&D and money even though the work was already done in the 30's. Why? Because not only is the technology not used, no uses the tools needed to make it. The more specialized the technology, the more specialized its tools are.Going to the moon requires specialized technology.

Evidence points quite the contrary, you could not even deploy the ISS without the russians... it is funny when you consider the russian module of the ISS is the one with the life support technology and port docking and cargo bay systems.

The claim was that a clear footprint couldn't be made in a vacuum without water. The video proves otherwise. That was the myth and they busted it.

BR177: They did leave something...the laser reflectors. What should they have left ? A hundred yard stretch of stadium lights? A mile wide circle ? Also, WHO ELSE could land on the moon since the sixties? Only the Soviets, but they lost their moon boosters to explosions and gave up. Why? They lost the race, and, like us, shifted attentions to Earth orbit operations. No need to be concerned about a hoax... the L.R.O will be launched in February.
