I am blown away! I have listened to this song at least 1000 times in the past 4-5 months. For me, it has always been about The Great War. There are places in the video that are quite simply mind blowing. Ok, I'll admit that I am just a little bit obsessed, but, it is an eerie coincidence that the images that I am seeing tonight for the first time on video are, in some places, virtually the same as I have imagined ever since I began listening to this amazing song. The crowd always seem very quiet on the newer live recordings, I do not know why, but to be honest I think mark knopfler lacks the "drive" he had to play this song live in the earlier days, although he is now a very good acoustic guitarist.
