I like Tim on Project Runway--he is key for the show, and I really like what he has to say here! Love what he says about liking to dress real women; about the slopification of American because we all want to be comfortable (ummm, guilty as charged); about Michelle Obama being the best styled and Cindy McCain looking like her poneytail is pulled too tight (LMAO!); about being a wordaholic, etc. Really, this was just so much more interesting than I imagined. But he doesn't smoke as a habit. He clearly shows his distate of the cigarettes. As for the guns, yeah, they hadn't quite hammered out Mac's character yet. In a later ep when they flashback to this ep, they delete the gun scene. Still, I wouldn't say this episode "doesn't count" because of the gun scene. It was a great start to a great show.

Didn't anybody notice at the end, the theme song sounded different than the normal one? Probably used the original "instruments" when Trek was in it's infancy as this was one of the earliest episodes. Could also tell because of the "Desilu" studio trademark used before Paramount took it over, but then was surprised by the TNG/DS9/Voyager modern day era "Paramount" studio theme that followed "Desilu". It feels really weird seeing both studios from opposite time line extremes like that. But nice.
