Ons spring day in '86, I emerged from a subway exit on Spadina Ave and walked right into the filming of this thing. Specifically, the bit where the drummer is hitting the building with his sticks and the other guys are vamping alongside. That was my intro to the Demons... Sure it was cheesy - so what?? It was fun and different. People who have to automatically diss all goofy art need to lighten up. I live in Vancouver now, where transit is pathetic. Sure do miss the TTC!

Old school. I wish I was born 10 years earlier to really appreciate that whole scene in the mid, late 80s in TO. Especially since that was really the beginning with Ron Nelson and his 88.1 show that was like when hip-hop was really coming through to Toronto. They were defintely influenced by RunDMC 'cause they started in 1984, so they are old school for sure. The music was in the air and these Canadian crackers couldn't help but catch the wave. I think the 3 saxes and drums and no microphone hook is kinda unique.
