The frame has a 35 degree rake and standard stretch. We replaced the big twin neck with Buell cups so we could run the thicker forks. The frame is widened at the rear to run the Buell 170mm tire, it will take up to a 200mm. The motor supposedly makes 101 hp from the factory, hopefully we freed up one or two extra with 1 3/4" open exhaust and carb tuning.

church The frame is set up to fit a 1986-2003 Sportster, and it also accepts Buell motors. The motor is out of a 2002 Cyclone, a carbureted motor from the factory.

I started the bike without any gear of course! The rear wheel is spinning due to the oil friction in the gear box combined with restored bearings and new chains that makes the rear wheel spinns as it should. You can see when i am touching the brakes at 2,40 how easy it stops.

That's pretty badass. I got an old 1976 KZ900 I'm planning to chop. Flat black paint's the way to go though. I did the fenders and tank black, but in the center of the tank there's a burgundy spade and under that it says lucky 13. Hopefully she'll look as good as your bike.

you may even be able to change the gearing which will make it go a bit faster but might lose some on the low end... I actually have this bike and it is rather cool...decent quality and not very expensive, it could be a future collectors item too. although it is street legal it is a very light bike so i wouldnt go on the interstates with it or commute either...just too many assholes on the road today, great for running around town though

top speed is 57 mph however you might be able to find an larger engine like an 250cc which is over twice the cc's its kickin with an 110cc (also choice of 49cc), i've been looking in mini bike and pocket bike shops, looks like you could scrounge up an bore kit to which would, make an little bike like this kick serious butt, and we ain't talking but about 2500 total, plus you could push close to 300cc out of an 250cc with that bore kit idk look into it

lol im looking into buying an hardknock since new they run about $1499.00 plus shiping and tax (usd)but hey considering the bike is on the shift pattern similar to that an Kawasaki ke 100 thats cool, check it out for ur self at kikker5150 dot com, super cool lots of choices, new 2007 seem to be street legal with ignition switch, break and turn signals, needs an place to mount an tag and tag lite (don't see one) though other wise really cool

Yes, First is up, neutral down, two down, three down etc. The Jockey shifting is forward for 1st, pull back for 2nd, back for 3rd etc.

I have a European model originally registered here in England. It's a '77 with 18" aluminium rear wheel. I think it's the xsD, has electric start which I'm gonna keep, sometimes my leg muscles are sore and tender from working out so I may need it. I believe the rd350 charging system fits straight onto these bikes and is much of an improvement to reliability. Thanks for the replies.

Both the XS and CB have been sold. We kept the XS motor mounts and welded them on a whole new frame. The frame has a nine inch rear stretch, and a 35 degree rake. I suggest stretching yours, it makes a lot of a difference, and a much cooler ride. We shortened the forks to one under to account for the 19" front wheel and 16" rear.

Hey, I like the way those pipes are set up, I've never seen it done like that on xs before. I have an xs I'm in the process of hardtailing. Did you build this one? How much distance is there between your rear wheel and the center down tube? I can't decide how much to stretch mine, one day I want short and the next I want big stretch. Yours looks cool. You still have the Honda CB?

In response to the previous comment, this is a US model. 1972 was one of the first years that the XS had electric start. If you prefer electric start over just running the kicker, then look for a model in the mid 70s. This bike is a kicker only, with the electric start removed. The XS series are notorious for poor charging systems, and chances are you will be using the kicker at some point, so why not all the time.

Mira, no se dedican a ese tipo de motos pero porque tienen unos cuantos laburos tomados de motos clasicas y algunas modernas tambien, pero transformaron una Daelin Magna hace poco y quedo exelente!! En poquito tiempo van a largar la pagina web, cuando este la publicare aca mismo asi despues ves las cosas que hacen y te podes contactar con ellos. Saludos

This is my 1981 Honda CM400 Project that pretty much started off as a joke, but ended up being something pretty neet. Im looking forward to doing another build, hopefully on either a yamaha XS650 or a honda CB750.

yours got over head cams? or is it just original stock, cus my cousin next door has a 3 of these bikes and he is going to turn one in to a bobber. but he removed the 400 and put a 450 cus it couldnt get up to speed on the highway around here people drive like idiots. One last thing where did you get your exhaust pips at his is original too the old spread cone ends to them.

its the same way here, you have to put all the safety equip back on to pass inspection, then take it back off. the cops will still ticket you though, if they feel like busting your chops.

pulled the stock mufflers off my OL cm 400 and welded 2" slashcut tips on, sounded great but no power, so Iwelded washers inside the pipes that have a 7/8" hole in them, nice sound(louder than harley with strait pipes)and gained all power back
