Read or watch anything about Mark Brandon "CHOPPER" Read it's immense. The film is a cult classic. Really dark, but with some fantastic humour injected in it. All based around real events, real people and a 'true' story.

Yeah 'Marching Powder' was great... I finnished that a few months ago. I went to borders (book store) and talked to an old guy saying that i read 'Papillon' and i needed something to replace it. He said 'marching Powder' but then he handed me a 900 pager and said read this, he said its one of the best books he'd ever come accross. 'Shantaram' true stroy about an Aussie who escaped prison and fled to India. Reviews are great, just started it last night and am hooked!

The film is nothing like the book. The book is 100 times better. Papillon is a fantastic and wonderful read. It is my favourite book. Sadly the Papillon story is not true. Read "Hell on Trial" by Rene Belbenoit. Papillon is based on Rene Belbenoit's book. So much of Papillon was plagiarized from Belbenoit it is laughable people believe Papillon is a true story. Remember the story about Papillon saving the governors daughter from drowning? Belbenoit wrote about that in 1938, 30 years before.

85 per cent an abosolute true story, saw it at the cinema in '73, when i was a young kid,and its still in mt Top 10 List and will be forever...shot in Spain and Hawaii,the scenery is both gorgeous and painfully lonely in this epic,under rated peice of genious. This is one of the best saves I have ever seen a sports reporter pull off. It isn't his fault he messed up. The production staff didn't get him the info matched up with the highlights. A sports reporter's job is never easy. It's hard to stand on camera and talk to several thousand people.

This is actually not that uncommon. It even happens on national networks like ESPN from time to time, and it's really more the fault of the copy-writer or the person creating the clip than the on-screen talent (though in the case of a local station like this appears to be, they very easily may all be the same person). At least the guy was able to laugh about it.
