its sad how things changed. the way of thinking changed. all i ever wanted to do when i was a teenager is play ball, have fun in school (prank the teachers), hang out whole day at that special place (everyone had one) with my best friends, drive around whole night, pick up my girl, hit the partys, drink & smoke (optional:) and feeling way to damn good. we were lazy, reckless, wild, irresponsible... i'm glad i've got more than few positive replys because it means people do remember. peace

Yeah. I got it for Christmas. :P Great, huh? Yeah, they played in the Graham Bond Organisation. I have some of their albums. If you haven't heard it, I HIGHLY recommend it. But Baker got Bruce kicked out and they'd have fights ON stage. Yeah, Clapton would fit so well in Traffic because he likes jammy, jazz/blues often more so than the hard rock that was more famous (y'know... Zeppelin, the Who, etc.) back then. That would have been fantastic! It's so sad Capaldi's gone. He'll always be legend!

It's kind of funny in a way, Baker and Bruce had been playing together off and on for years already. In a way it would have made more sense for Clapton to join Traffic! Winwood cover bass on the organ in that band, and Jim Capaldi was one of the best drummers ever, a total groove player. I can totally picture Clapton with Traffic, but he may have had too many personal problems at the time. His recent autobiography 'Clapton' is a great, these musicians in this era from someone at it's center.

I've seen/heard them from some concert footage. They play so well together. I can't recall.. which bio it was, but he'd mentioned that he wanted Winwood in Cream, but hadn't got the guts to really put it forward and make something of it. Imagine that.. some of the best musicians already plus a fantastic singer and multi-instrumentalist. Too bad about Baker and Bruce hating on each other back then, but oh well. Some great, legendary days of rock, hey?

'Clapton', his recent autobiography covers his whole career including 'Blind Faith'. He and Winwood had actually hoped for their version of 'The Band', but as it worked out, Baker's presence took them down the supergroup path especailly live, which wasn't what they intended, so Clapton was happy with the album, but didn't like the direction of the live shows. check him out on 'The Johnny Cash Show' to see where he was trying to go. hope he and Winwood record together again, originals maybe?

well said, that's exactly right. clapton was just doin copious amounts of blow in '69, he said his dealer would only sell him that much coke if he bought some smack aswell...so maybe he dabbled but he wasnt a full blown junkie til the dominos recording sessions in miami. but, actually, he was pissed at ginger baker and yelled at him for being strung out during this concert

Also Eric said he wasnt happy at that preformance and that his heart was with Delaney and Bonnie. He just wanted to play with them. I would say thats the main reason Blind Faith broke up. I also dont think his guitar playing was mediocre. His guitar compliments the songs. He said that after cream he got fed up with long solo's and being all virtuoso he said its over rated. Yea, i dont think Eric became a herion addict until the Derek and the Dominoes days.
