Neither Tyson nor Ruddock were ever the same after their two wars. Tyson clearly won both fights but they both took hard shots. Tyson has said that of all of his fights, Ruddock hit the hardest. Not taking anything away from anyone, but styles make fights as well. Whatever any fighter did against another doesn't make them better or worse than any other fighter who may have fought the same dudes. Having said that, I think Lewis was the best of his era.

Wow, I always knew this footage existed because of a picture book i had which showed these two talking. I always wondered why it was cut, but now I think I know why; Luke constantly looks at the dirt, The dialog is poor with terms like "Nationalize" (when the empire is not a nation) And the goodbye is too sudden Basically "Well, I'll never see you again, bye" *shake*. Still, its galaxies far far above most of the dialog in the newer films. I mean Midichloreans...wtf?

This piece came out on an album by E. Power Biggs called Bach Organ Favorites. From what I've been able to find out, it was released in 1961, two years before I was born. My parents played this album all through my childhood, and I now have my own copy of it, as well as the CD. I never tire of listening to it. This organ, as well as Biggs himself, are the best. I now have a huge collection of his albums. Great stuff!

Modern digital recording techniques can't compare to what they did back in the '50s: i have a number of 78s from that era, and they convey the full, rich sound of the music much better than anything the modern day machines can match. Power Biggs and I think it was one of his quadraphonic albums and it sounded great (better than a CD) on his old record player/AM-FM radio/reel to reel console that he had bought back in the 50s from Sears Roebuck. The thing was a beast and had a bunch of vaccuum tubes in it but man did it put out the sound - better than any stereo boombox that I've ever heard

E. Power Biggs was approached to make the first quadraphonic album ever. It was comprised of Bach organ pieces. The organ he performed on (actually four organs tied together on a single keyboard,) was the organ of the Freiburger Muenster (one of the first baroque cathedrals.) My future wife was one of those allowed to sit in on the recording. What a marvelous opportunity it was for her. (I am a bit jealous, to tell the truth.) That was in 1977 or there around.

I hadn't heard this for years-another reason to buy a turntable for my LPs! This one is an absolute masterpiece - it's as intoxicating as ever. Virtuoso is so often an overused word but this man was all of that and more. This particular recording brings back memories of being with friends in a dark room -"soaking up" an appetizer of Deep Purple (through stereo headphones)-then overwhelming our auditory senses with a main course of E Power Biggs-played loud, of course. What evidence have you that people didn't play with a constant tempo in the 1700's? If anything scholars believe music was interpreted in a stricter fashion. It makes sense for this piece to have a constant rhythm, the very subject of the fugue is constant 8th notes, they are the driving rhythm of the whole piece. Bach's fugues are about order. In this piece if one voice fluctuates in tempo then the rest loose the order; they no longer make sense.

I am very proud, because my dad was (among others) the builder of this organ in 1958. He stayed with the Bigg's for about 4 months to build up and fine-tune the organ. It is one of the finest baroque-organs ever built.

I always liked that his version of the Toccata didn't sound like something from a Dracula film. Biggs was the first performer to spark my interest in classical music. It was 1981, I was 14, and I heard a recording of his on radio, and was so bowled over by it I quickly shoved in a cassette and taped the remainder of the piece, and listened to it literally hundreds of times afterward. Still have the (worn)cassette somewhere, as well as some albums. Thanks for the post!

In the 70's, we'd get back from a ride on our dirtbikes and crank up some Biggs. One of the funniest things I remember from those days was my friend Doug leaving his LP of Biggs on the edge of a picnic table in the sun... it bent at a 90-deg angle... He was, and to this day, is... crestfallen over it. I, OTOH, laugh like a hyena whenever that comes up.

i don't know what law could be used or if one exists but all those who logged in to view his webcam suicide,should be traced by the police and charged,perhaps fined/prosecuted,if a law was brought in then it may make people think twice of viewing such happenings,it may not prevent the suicide of a person but at least they wont be "egged on" by sick voyeurs.
