Dexyao, actually, it is more complicated than pulling the bike off hook. The hook has multiple components which would require special maneuvering. This is more complicated than just lifting the bike up. Besides that, It is possible to also lock the bike with a u-lock or cable lock to the hooking mechanism/platform. This would provide double security, while at the same time providing security to bicycle cargo and components.

A lock could be incorporated into the lift. It could be either built into the rack or it the rack could have a place for a personal cable or u-lock to secure the bike to. This should nullify issues of security, compared to lock a bike to a pole on the sidewalk.

All they would really need to do is remove the front wheel, which is as easy as tying your shoes if it's a quick-release and as easy as tying someone else's shoes if it's a bolt-on. After that they can just haul the thing home and bust the U-lock at their leisure. Either way I think it kind of defeats the purpose if you need to carry a U-lock anyway.

I have no experience with the problem myself, but my bike shop tells me that usnless your seals are perfect, hanging the bike by the wheel can cause trouble with leaking oil from the damper. I stopped worrying when I got my CX bike.

Forgive my ignorance, but I cant see where the motor is mounted I assume back as I don't see anything on the front wheel. What type of batt. are you using. I also cannot tell how fast you are going. I have a Trek Antelope that I modified and It will do between 35-40 with me pedaling. 48V 800watts. But buying some parts were necessary. And I am bit heavy 230lbs. With you my bike would run like a bat out of hell. Good JOb. I would like to see a profile pic of the bike.
