(1) I love his fast style and flurry of punches. I even started training those fast combinations after seeing how effectively he used them. It was awesome accuracy (2) He combined it with jiu jitsu beautifully. That was the good part. Now for the bad part: - He was on roids. If you compare when he was 21 to how he looks today at Affliction, he lost a _LOT_ muscle mass. Reminds me a bit of Mark Kerr (but Mark never was a good striker, Vitor was) - Against Saku he fought like SHIT!

The gi teaches you to understand grappling from a technical view that is much harder to achieve any other way. Do you have to modify what you do somewhat? I am doing bjj and sometimes compete, with gi of course. Now I will do my first grappling tournament as well. I just wonder why some elite grappling competitions are without t shirt, no rashguard nothing ? Localy we have to wear one. And I prefer it that way. Don't get me wrong, because I love the sport, but without rashguard or gi I find the grappling just a bit too much gay.

I agree with you. In a boxing match, Mike Tyson would POUND Vitor Belfort into submission! It would be a 30 second destruction. I can't think of ANY MMA fighter who could step into a boxing ring and expect to beat a person like Mike Tyson in his prime. Mike trained all of his life to be a boxing champion.
