I know, I think the reason why everybody seems to be focusing on the Co$ is the double-edged sword of having celebrities as members of the church. Whilst it does get people all excited and it could increase membership, there is the fact that when corruption is detected, the fact that celebrities are involved draws alot of attention to it, so that's why most people seem to be anti-scientology at the moment, and they'll move onto something else when they've routed out the corruption in the Co$.

Yeah I'm having a tough time piecing it together too. It must be pretty heavy brainwashing but it's not clear what the brainwashing consists of. What the exact process is. I watched a video on cults and there are SO many parallels to this, but CoS doesn't seem to have the ritualistic elements the others do.
