Oui je l'ai vu et non ils ne sont pas passifs on le comprend en les voyant (c'est ce qu'il manque cruellement aux vidéos). C'est le souffle qu'ils inspirent, ils la poussent en avant je ne veux pas la défendre envers et contre tout (j'ai vu café mueller dans la même soirée qui m'a fortement déçue) là où je suis d'accord, c'est que la musique de stravisky se suffit à elle-même, c'est pareil pour Béjart. On est peut-être d'un côté ou de l'autre...

"Que vouliez vous ?" Et bien que cette Danse Sacrale soit un sacrifice collectif de l'élue. Béjart avait bien compris cela et c'est ce qui constitue l'essence du rituel. La passivité des danseurs de Bausch n'est pas justifiée. En réalité, la musique de Stravinsky se suffit à elle-même et se passe très bien d'une chorégraphie. Bausch ne respecte pas la musique ; avez-vous vu le ballet qu'elle a réalisé sur Le Mandarin merveilleux de Bartok ? Elle se permet des coupures scandaleuses.

la raison pour laquelle P. Bausch a fait le sacre n'est pas pour que ça paraisse joli je viens de le voir, la semaine dernière à Düsseldorf, c'est déchirant. Que vouliez-vous? que les danseurs accourent pour lui dire qu'elle va survivre, que ce n'est pas grave? C'est ça que j'appelle n'avoir rien compris au rite. La technique ne suffit pas à faire une représentation, elle va chercher + loin

Musique géniale pour une chorégraphie sans intérêt et bien peu inventive (elle propose toujours les mêmes mouvements). Pina Bausch ne sert pas la musique elle s'en sert. A-t-elle jamais ouvert la partition du Sacre ? Sait-elle même lire la musique ? Le statisme des danseurs face à l'élue est désolant. En comparaison, la chorégraphie de Béjart est géniale et n'a pas pris une ride. Un succès surfait...

I realise this is probably late, but the best way to see a Pina Bausch performance on DVD is through the library. I know the New York public library has some, but you have to request permission to see them so give yourself some time for the request to be made sometime. As far as I know they aren't for sale.

I don't want what I posted to get confused. There is a story. But the way to realize story is less through understanding the narrative and more through understanding the raw emotion of the dancers. Those who are rational can enjoy this, and children can enjoy this, although some of the more complicated emotional relationship may not be clear to them. Pina's work is very much about sexuality and passionate relationships, self-destruction, and redemption.

I saw it last night & preferred both dance pieces. Everyone I was with seemed to prefer 'Rite of Spring' also! She wasn't dancing unfortunetly, but i had the pleasure to know that in the interval she was sat directly 2 rows behind us!!!! ^.^. Wow. And when the appeared on stage to take a final bow with the 'Rite of Spring' cast. The crowd (including myself) went insane!! She's a genius!!! =]

Astonishing! So vibrant. Can't remember seeing that type of exuberant, uninhibited vitality except in African dance. Very stirring. I think Germany was/is the seat of a revolutionary dance movement largely ignored in the US except by a few cognosenti, which is a shame. US political climate is one factor. Prudery and the Puritan ethic is another. "We're the best" is another. I'm an artist and writer. I would love to work with Pina Bausch or someone with a similar aesthetic, movitvation.

Okay i am learning about this woman Pina Baush in college and they say she is the greatest choreographer. Now i don't mind other people learning or liking this woman but it is not really that helpful. Seriously when i first saw a video of her performing i did not even understand a single thing a that was going on. For future performances I don't think i want to do Romeo and Juliet while breathing through a microphone.

no mms!! como puedes decir eso de este trabajo, si tu vieras al hombre que sale en este video en persona te darias cuenta de todo el trabajo que esta detras, el hombre tiene una expresion impresionante que no cualquiera logra, nos da clases en la facultad de danza y es un maestrazo y un gran bailarin, aparte expresar todo lo que la cancion dice con solo la expresion de la manos es super creativo y por gente que opina como tu el arte no puede llagar mas lejos, trata de reflexionar..
