In my opinion, he doesn't cover a crucial point... - The Bat Grip The use of the left arm (in the case of right hand batsmen) for power and leverage and the use of the right arm more for direction, most of the time...In my experience, a stronger grip with the top hand sends the ball further and harder. Mark Waugh's seemingly effortless flicks are a case in point. He doesn't talk about getting in line with the ball, getting to the pitch of the ball, weight transfer...Keeping it simple, I guess.

Watch the ball from the bowlers hand. If you can see the seam position and know where the ball is being released then it's a lot easier to predict whether it's going to be short or full and whether it's going to move on you. Just like monty118 said there will be bad balls and when they come, put them away.

bro, idk if sum1 allready helped u but cc to me and the way i play, first u shud choose the correct ball to play it, it shud be short and on middle/leg stump line and to judge that make sure u look at the ball when released and not the bowler, tht way u will c better and connect it, 2nd is footwork, i would recommend going backfoot and make sure u in a steady postion, if ur feet are not in balance then u will not connect well. hope it helps.

the only tip there is never play cross. Your playing cross and it is the most easiest way to get out. If the ball if on offstump, than play it on offside. Do proper footwork to help yourself on that. If you use ur front foot correctly, the problem should go away.
