Yay, I've worked with coffee since i was 16 and this is one of my biggest joys of coffee making; the beautiful designs you make with the milk and espresso. My personal favorite I make is a phoenix. Keep it up, it makes for great tips, and if you think you cant do this, just try. It's a lot easier than you might think.

I was working under extreme technical limitations. The lighting in the room was poor and I didn't have axillary lights. Also, I have a dial-up modem, so I had to compress the file to an extreme degree. Check out my Edifice Wrecks video as that has a much better image quality.

As awesome as those displays were, I fail to see the point of dedicating that much time to setting them up only to film them in a dark room with what must have been a camera phone. While up close and in person, it had to have been tremendous to see, the low resolution and the horrible lighting kept us from truly enjoying the display. Other than that, great job!

Brynhilde, you can't think like that. You can eventually play quite well if you keep playing. Take a look at some other guitarist on YouTube that are hobbiests with it. In particular I recommend checking out KabukiBear83 as an example. He's only been playing for 6-7 years, but he arranges all the pieces he plays. His version of Radical Dreamers in particular is amazing. Don't be so hard on yourself, as you said, you've only been playing for one year.

Fair enough :) Bach's music is abstract. His music being universal is tied to that. Bach never evokes transitory feelings such as sadness, happiness, or peace only, it always comes with a sense of dignity, order and balance. That you can't have with romantics, for instance. Bottom line: When i say bach touches me, he does so on a spiritual level, if that means something to you, rather than a merely emotional which is, according to medieval 4 plane philosophy, below.

Reverse the argument and you'd be closer to, what I believe to be,is true. Baroque is intellectual music, its adherence to the Florentine Doctrine of Affection is the cherry on top. Gosh, do I use that phrase derogatorily. Oh, and just because Bach's music share certain technical aspects with the Romantics doesn't automatically make it emotionally expressive.Without the almost subliminal intellectualism in Baroque music it would be, just, blech, horrible.Say, what emotion does this piece convey?

You don't say ;) He is, for me, both intellectually and emotionally expressive. That's what makes bach bach, the balance between the emotional quality of his rather romantic harmonies and their succession and the intellectual quality of the architecture and the recurring patterns of the lines such as inversions, retrograde, mirroring and the like. But i enjoy the emotional aspect much more and think of the intellectual as the cherry on the sundae, not more.

It is impossible to think of anyone else that could sing this song. Art was the unsung hero of the duo. He was treated like crap by Paul for many years and he simply took it without public complaint. To this day, Paul speaks ill of Art...it's so sad. Because Paul would not have realized anywhere near the success he did without Art. One of the great songs of all time.

What I mean to get across is that some people do not care about philosophy, art, science. Simple people. Religion is good in many ways, and bad in many other ways too. It is bad when there becomes a combination of fanatics and extremists. Perhaps this is why many intelligent people in the world prefer the social sciences and economics over philosophy.
