If americans went around and turbocharged everything they would get more hp/litre. Turbocharging is like taking steroids. Personally i like having all my torque at 3200 rpms, instead of waiting till 9000 RPMs for that big as T74 you have on your little 1.8 litre v-tec

not too long ago i was in north bimini and they had an atom 450 in a crate without the engine. i guess somebody had shipped it but didnt pay the taxes or somthing along the lines like that, but it was a waste. before then i have never heard about the ariel atom's. the one i saw was rusting away with the salt air. it just seemed out of place considering they are from britian? is that correct? i really wanted to get farther into it to see why it was there.

I would be very interested to see what that thing would do with a turbo instead of the supercharger. I am more a fan of turbo then supercharger. I find that the turbos hold up better in the higher rev ranges and make more power than the superchargers do. I might try and find where I can buy one and do that :D he he

hello there guys i need some help regarding the price of the atom 2. after long search in the web i was unable to find a steady price(not even in the manufacturer's site). reviewers of the car mentioned prices but without mentioning what extras were fitted with. i need the price with the extra overcharged 300hp engine, the big brakes pack and the windshield, nothing else(in euros or atleast in dollars). thnx anyway

And....their torque is shit. The torque on the 2.4 is still higher than that 200 hp 2.0L. Hondas are all high-end power with no low-end grunt. BTW, in my comment about the autocrossers I meant to say without issue, not with.

Remember that the 205 that the supercharged Ecotec was rated at was a bit misleading. The rated it a 5300 rpm and the thing spun to 6500 I think. The Stage 2 upgrade, smaller pulley/injectors, raised the redline to 7000. They were regularly putting 215-230 to the ground while being rated at that 205 at the crank. The new turboed 2.0L is even better. It's rated at 260 hp and, more impressively for a 4 cyl, 260 ft-lbs. The torque is dead flat from 2000 rpm all the way to 5300 at the rated 260.

Nah, that's because focus has more weight pushing on front wheels and therefore has more grip, and it has abs which atom doesn't have. Also, focus has less inertia and momentum in the video and it's easier to stop. No one can avoid laws of physics.

WOOOT!!! The Ford Focus amazingly had the shortest braking time off those 6 cars shown at the end, only 00:04:20 !! Ofcourse the 2 lighweight ones were on wet but still it's an amazing result! Could it be that the slow acceleration of the Focus gave the driver a better chance for a more controlled braking? Or is it simply that good?

Would it...not according to Peugeot's own stats, and if yours is modded then it's not even worth comparing - a few hundred quid on an ECU flash for the SEAT and it would make you look silly. I sold this car 5 years ago now, I used to love my 205GTi but can at least admit that whilst it was a 100% pure driving experience it would get wasted by the best today...I'd also suggest that if you tried to take a Cupra on "all day long" it would be your Pug that dies first, and terminally!

are you high fool, do some bloody research before posting, you're completely ignorant about saabs. a saab 9000 aero had quicker in gear acceleration (i think from 80km/h to 120km/h from memory) than many of the supercars of it's time. that information is only a google search away. a 9-3 aero could woop 911 turbo of its day in gear too! research dummy!!

The permament light was the low washer fluid warning as the tank was tiny and always running out, the flashing light was the traction control when the turbo got up to speed and the wheels started to spin! I should have switched traction control off, but this was 5 years ago and I never thought it would be posted on YouTube!!!

the leon cupra does have a turbo. some people dont like the spikey power deloivery off a turbo charged cars which is why they tune n/a cars. more modern turbos have smother delivery now tho, with some (bmw) emloyling two turbos, a small 1 for low down revs and then a bigger 1 that takes over at higher revs. virtually eliminates turbo lag.

It's a UK Cupra (not Cupra R) so it only had 180BHP. The 215/225 were marketed as Cupra R's in the UK, I'd have another though. Have to say I don't agree with the Metro comment though, my 205GTi used to waste them, and anyway it wasn't to 60, it was to 100 and the Metro's run out of oomph at 85ish and then crawl up there. Plus remember that Metro's, Ka's and 220 Sli's don't have the 8 airbags, air con, electric seats, ABS, and solid construction, they therefore weigh in a lot lighter.

Mate I had a V-Strom 650 now I ride a TDM 900. If you are saying that a V-Strom 650 will accelerate faster than a TDM you are living in Fairyland! To start with they weight exactly the same but the TDM has 18 horsepower & 20Nm of torque more than the V-Strom. Unless your V-Strom is geared down heaps there is absolutely no way it can out accelerate a TDM. My wife hangs on tight on the TDM, on the V-Strom she doesn't need to. I think you need to get your GPS checked!

My mate & my father in law both had Firestorm`s, I had a TDM 850 for the upright riding position (bad back problems!). I was always first away at the lights, left them standing every time :o) Yes, they would catch up & pass me eventualy but they could never get away faster. When F I L had a go on my TDM he nearly Flipped it `cos he wasn`t expecting the instant grunt !!!! TDM ROOLS !!! :o)

Pretty possible. It's all about torque and gearing. TDM has great torque across the rev range, and higher gearing. This mean real quick acceleration, but a lower top speed, so while R1 has the horse power to keep accelerating hard to 300kmph, TDM kinda dies around 240.

I had a 1980 bmw R80/7 and it took (manufacturing figures) 5.2 secs to 60 mph so how on earth a modern 900 twin is going to be slower??! my cbr250 has this red light thing mounted beside the rpm guage that turns on when it reaches 90kph. i don't really time my runs, i just ride it and make it go red cuz i like red, hahahaha!!! seriously, when i go all out on the gas from 0kph, the light turns red in less that 4secs and i'm still in 2nd gear at 12000+rpm. the fastest i went with it is at 160kph with a 50kg or so passenger driving in philippine roads, cebu particulary.

CBR250RR is not a bad beginners bike. I own an RS250(I got a video of mine if you wanna check it out on my profile), and I must say it's not comparable to the CBR. I love CVT, cos they're quick and fuel efficient But autos are still better, when you accelerate you want to hear the engine change,in a CVT you know its changing but you don't get the same feeling. Think Autos are better unless you have a nissan, Nissan CVT kicks arse

Im also just using my best judgement on this guess.... But i assume that this ultima can am beats the veyron around most types of tracks.... excluding code de azur.....
