I attended this show. Diddley was never less than the baddest cat on stage. In contrast, his band was a nightmare, and Wood was so drunk he could barely stand, much less keep his guitar in tune.

Keith Richards and Ron Wood have never said that they were the best guitarpluckers in the either. They have stated that they are shit on their own but great together. Rihcards and Wood have the same approach to playing the guitar as a team. That's what I like about Ron and Keet. I like Jimmy Page, but I'm not interested in listning to a 20 min guitar solo.

how can anyone in their right mind think that this is good. His playing is asolutely crap. Ron Wood is the luckiest man in showbiz. He cant play to save his life. Ive seen the stones with Mick taylor and twice with Ron wood, once 13yrs ago and only 3yrs ago. He is a rock n roll poser who if you watch carfully rarely plays on stage, and if he does its really poor. When I saw the stones with Mick taylor it was incredible, a real great player. Ron wood is crap

This was at the Ritz in NYC....25Nov87. It was an awesome venue to see Ronnie (with Bo Diddley). Small, old Vaudeville theater. He did not go on stage until about 10:00pm. Great venue to see a Rolling Stone (I stood in the front touching the stage...took about 75 pictures...a dream come true!!)

Cheers for the answer rad re who the drummer is. Anton Figg it would seem is the drummer. I just looked him up on the Wikepdia site and apparently he is CBS house drummer and plays on the david Letterman show. What an amazing talent Anton is!!!

Again, creative differences? Anyone can claim that and it means jack. Viv was not fired because he was simply being too flashy. Viv has in the past stated he did not want to play metal. That while IN Dio he was recording all kinds of music to include reggae. Viv during that time put down metal guitarist style saying anyone can play fast. Wrong. His ego had nothing to do with him leaving during the editing of Live Evil. The second incarnation his contract ended before they did the shows for Ozzy. No one is saying Ronnie has never had an ego. What we ARE saying why it is always his fault and no one else's? What Tony and Geeze do not have egos? Again, what Viv had no ego? NO, Dio fired him because he became a LOUD mouth. He was NEVER fired for anything flashy. Viv says he only got along with Ronnie for the first 6 months. They were older than he was and Ronnie was an American. Btw this is news to Ronnie. Viv says he became disenfranchised before Sacred Heart and just rushed through it. Viv was fired 1/2 through that tour. Viv did not want to play tradition metal anymore. He did not want to be another guitar gawd. He wanted to sing, to play other music.

He talks about Adrian during that tour as having an ego problem and wanting to play the longer solos so Viv would play longer than he would then Adrian would get and play longer. But THEN in an Adrian interview Adrian mentions NOTHING of that but the fact that Viv's SO got involved in band politics.

I never disputed whether Ronnie was louder than Viv, that was another user. I don't think anything is wrong with their live performances save the file quality (but people are bound to add some better videos with time). I think Coverdale for sure fired Sykes out of jealousy. I think Dio fired Viv cuz he was stealing part of the spotlight. (perhaps creativedifferences 2). Viv said Ronnie wanted to control everytihng about his sound and playing in the studio so maybe they disagreed on that aspect.

What is funny is how Viv gets a session gig to do a tour for WS and then talks about how other people have problems. He was talking Adrian. He said Dave paid him generously. Arian though says they had an issue day 1 with Viv's other half who was making waves. Viv only meantions that Dave snubbed him when he gave Dave recordings of possible songs for their next album. Viv was fired from whitesnake because he had to deal with another extremely talented yet vain singer named David Coverdale. Both Dio and Whitesnake were singer's bands. Coverdale fired Sykes too (you know, the man who wrote an overwhelming majority of the 1987 album that made Coverdale internationally famous again; the first time was with Purple). So you're gunna tell me both Sykes and Campbell were average guitarists? Coverdale and Dio have huge egos and they fired them out of jealousy.
