What Carlson couldn't grasp was the News Show isn't. It's satire that was taken to such an extreme that it became indistinguishable from a standard TV or Cable news show.

the other guys just conveyed the wrong message. i kind of get their point: jon stewart probably has more influence on the political thought of the youth demographic in america than any other person, and they were trying to say that he should use it more fully to the viewers' advantage. but again, everything was lost in translation. everyone just lost their cool: nothing was settled.

whats happening in the video is a failure to communicate. instead of actual discourse, they're going their own separate ways. no one's actually listening to the other person, and that's the problem. jon stewart is a genius, but he should have made more of an effort to truly get the message across instead of pissing them off. they're both kind of wrapped in their self-righteousness.

In a time when news is actually talking point regurgitation, "The Daily Show" and "Real Time" always swing the spotlight where it needs to shine. These COMEDY shows tell the truth about issues of self-righteous repression like Intelligent Design and Praying The Gay Away. And they DON'T make it sound like there are two rational sides when there AREN'T. Keep it up, Jon, Bill and your writers. For a comic take on society's repression of homosexuality, do a YouTube search for "MAYBE GAY RAY"

That is why I boycott the media, and I hope that when my generation (I'm 22) grows up, we all boycott the media, instead of turning into 40 year old Republicans with good jobs, who vote conservative solely so we have more money for our bottled-up suburban lives. I want fucking freedom and art and music and life. I want real humanity, and I don't want generations and generations of our kids growing up on Hannah Montana and shitty corporate rap and pop music and ABC and FOX and nightly news.

I have never a crossfire show, but just by seeing this clip, I know these guys (except Jon ofcourse) are idiots. Notice that when they do not know what to say, they say: "I thought you was funny" or they interrupt Jon when he is talking and do not debate rationally, using reason to get to the truth. Americans just cant reliase that by Mccain's definition, U.S has been a socialist country since the induction of the income tax. The only candidate who wanted to abolish the income tax was Ron Paul, so I guess all other candidates were socialist :)
