we signed a treaty with them an wouldn't even help them, we are fighting iraq for nothing(meaning false pretenses) and we won't fight a war that really (they asked for our help) matters...

By: nikobsd. on 26 Aug 08, 09:18:31
russia has no right to come on our teritory, even south ossetians dont wanna seperate. There is no conflict with georgians and them. they used to live in same villages. But russians and the ones trying to show that there is a conflict, and thats what they did. They make them start shooting, and after that we attacked back, its our consitutional right to do that.
By: irakliauf. on 20 Aug 08, 14:35:00
Did you know what about are you talking? in georgia separatists are backed by the russians... they are giving the armement to this people to fight contre georgians... at 7 august of 2008 separatists opened the fire to georgians villages and on the simple georgian citizens... we gaved them 12 hour to cease the fire and they did not do it! we had the obligation to protect our citizens on our teritory!!! and it's at 8 august that russians intervien in the confict... who started the war decide...

I can 't understand half of what you saying-so many mistakes, it's hard to read. The bottom line: Russia DID NOT start the war. Georgie DID START the war. So, you offered to unite to ossetians and abhazians. THEY DO NOT WANT to renite eith Georgie. Now Gegoria decided to TAKE THEM BY WAR. Well, it's not how it should work. Unfortunately it's america's politics: to make others do what America wants them to. want to be in NATO? Be there. Only without Ossetia and Abhazia. They DON'T WANT TO
By: irakliauf. on 20 Aug 08, 06:53:37
there is only on responsable on this war and it's rusia!!! everithing coming from 1921... many people talks about this conflict but they do not know why they exsists, why did they were created and why goergians choosing NATO, between Russia and him....

lier!!! noone making and made genocide of ossetians!!!!
By: irakliauf. on 20 Aug 08, 06:44:51
lier!!! osetians and apkhazians are our brothers!!! we proposed many times the autonome countrie to this separatists but they refused because everithing decides in Kremle!!! dirty probagandist!!!!
By: irakliauf. on 20 Aug 08, 06:42:28
you are talking about Brotherhood? what is the brotherhood how did you think? when russians mading georgian genocide, when they annexing 3 times our cuntrie, when they gived our teritorie to turkey, when they launched civil war and support Shevardnadze who was russian satelite, when russia creat and supports separatists on our countre we have only one choice: find the alternate ways to unifie our countrie... and it's NATO and europe today!!!!
By: ierst1976. on 16 Aug 08, 14:27:00
You say: russia wanted to have someone appointed by Kremlin in georgian government. Well, even if it;s true: Russia and Georgia had a long history of brotherhood. What America has to do with Georgia? Don't tell me that America doesn't want to have someone under it's control to be Georgian president. They got that idiot Saakashvili, they thought that they got it covered. But he was too stupid and too airheaded to screw this up with starting this war.
By: ierst1976. on 16 Aug 08, 14:26:02
And now all the Western media blaims Russia. WHY? because it works for american government to have Georga and Ukraine as allies. They promise to these countires good life and support, like they did to Izrael in war against arabs. It;s easier to try to control Russia with these two countries under American government control.
By: ierst1976. on 16 Aug 08, 14:24:56
But Georgia claims that Osetian and Abhazian territorries geographically belong to Georgia. Georgian government wants the territorry back, but they don;t want the people who live there. (Like Izrael and Palestine). THAT IS WHY Russia and, yes, Kremlin, stood for Osetian people who are currently Russian citizens. What would America do in this situation? Just let american citizens get killed? I doubt it.
By: ierst1976. on 16 Aug 08, 14:23:48
LIsten, Smart A, it all started NOT in April of this year. FOR YEARS Georgia was practicing genocis agains osetian people. That's why osetian peole DO NOT want to be a part of Georgia. THAT IS WHY osetian people want to stay within Russian territorry.

it's funny how in all of these paragraphs you never once mentioned the ever increasing presence of US and Israeli forces in George over the past few months. European news sources have reported this. I'm sure Russia has no reason the feel threatened with a buildup of troops on it's borders and a "missile shield" in Poland and Czech Republic. The US is just as responsible for this conflict as Russia, just as we were responsible for the conflict between Russia and Afghanistan during the cold war.

It is clear, the Moscow analyst says, that Moscow hoped to intimidate Georgia into retreating from its effort to integrate itself into the West and that "in principle Moscow was even prepared to formally preserve the territorial integrity of Georgia in the form of some kind of confederation" if it did so and if it replaced Saakashvili with a leader the Kremlin liked.

Then Russian forces knocked out of the sky a Georgian drone over Abkhazia, introduced more heavily armed Russian units in Abkhazia, sent Russian planes into Georgian airspace, and under various "invented" pretexts effectively ended any "diplomatic regulation of the conflict[s]" on Georgian territory.

But after Bucharest, Felgengauer notes, "events began to develop with increasing speed." Putin directed the government "to develop measures for providing significant help" to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the two republics that reject the idea that they are part of the Republic of Georgia.
By: umberto492007. on 15 Aug 08, 08:37:49
At that time, Moscow officials said that Russia would use "any means" to block the entrance of Georgia into the alliance. But neither the Western powers nor Georgian President Mihkiel Saakashvili believed that the Kremlin was prepared to violate international law and go as far as it has in recent days.
By: umberto492007. on 15 Aug 08, 08:36:48
The Russian wheels of war began to role after the NATO summit in Bucharest, one in which Putin participated and in which it became obvious that the Western alliance would sooner or later include Georgia and Ukraine in its ranks, something that the Russian leadership in general and Putin in particular were not prepared to tolerate without a fight.
By: umberto492007. on 15 Aug 08, 08:36:10
The plan, the Moscow analyst continues, was for "the Ossetians to intentionally provoke the Georgians" and then "any response, harsh or soft, [by Tbilisi] would be used as an occasion for the attack." And if the response of the Georgians was one of restraint, then "the Abkhaz would begin as now the long prepared operation to 'cleanse' the upper part of the Kodori gorge." "If a war is planned," Felgengauer points out, "then a pretext will always be found."
By: umberto492007. on 15 Aug 08, 08:35:25
In an extensive article in today's "Novaya gazeta," Pavel Felgengauer says that "today it is perfectly obvious that the Russian intervention in Georgia was planned in advance" and that the available evidence shows that the Kremlin had decided "already in April to begin the war in August" (novayagazetaDOT ru/data/2008/59/04DOThtml).

Stupidity! If You don't know or just not shore, please, SHUT UP! Despite Moscow's claims that it was only responding to Georgian actions and therefore cannot be called the aggressor, Vladimir Putin in fact already in April set in motion plans to invade Georgia sometime this year and was only waiting for a propitious moment to do so, according to Moscow's leading commentator on military affairs.
