Tim Hatcher -- "Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen" -- on ukulele Posted by: timboytx
Video duration: 202 seconds This song from 1937 has been recorded by dozens of great performers, including Al Bowlly, Ella Fitzgerald, Teresa Brewer, Judy Garland, Benny Goodman, Steve Lawrence and Guy Lombardo. And what a great little song for the ukulele! I'm just using Em, B7 and Am. I have realized that I inadvertently rearranged some of the lyrics, so if I get the time, I'm going to re-record this. Tim Hatcher -- "I'll Never Know" -- original song on ukulele Posted by: timboytx
Video duration: 155 seconds This is a song I wrote in 1997, long before I started playing the ukulele. Seems ideal for this great little instrument. I performed it in April 2007 at the New York Ukulele Festival's open mic event. (The song is copyrighted.) Thank you so much! This song was recorded rather spontaneously, with not much planning. It's been a favorite for many years, so it came out without much effort. It helps that there were only three chords, I believe!

I confess...I got it from an internet translator, so I had no idea how correct it was. Glad I made you smile!

OH! :D Big smile on my face, that was the best norvegian sentence I've seen in a while. Correct spelling but with a twist...hehehe

Tim, this was the first song I got hooked at the beginning of my hard-core swing-dance/Lindyhopper phase. You've taken me down Memory Lane. Thanks! I love your smooth uke sound. Looking forward to your next video!

We live in Neil's Harbour, Nova scotia, and there is a group here in NS called the Andrews Sisters who sing this type of music.

hey, you did a great job. My younger brother's name is Timothy Hatcher, and I found you by chance, looking for his channel. Thanks for listing the chords, I played along with you on guitar and I will learn this song. Where in the world do you live?

The Andrews Sisters did my favourite version--what a shame they didn't play ukulele in their act!

Thanks very much, Sirant! It's a concert size William King, from 2006. I love the classic look, though. It's from their Vintage series.

Awesome! I love the old tunes from the 20's - 50's on uke. What kind of uke are you playing? Looks like an old Martin..... Just curious! Keep on uke'in!
