I think I am perfectly mature, thank you. I had restricted myself to give an opinion about Sertab's performance, which in theory, is all what we should be doing in here. So I don't have to put up with people calling me idiot, stupid or anything else simply because they do not agree with me. Belgium sang in an imaginary language and I agree with stijnlaurens, the Belgian song was much better than the Turkish. That has nothing to do with jelousy. Sorry, but Sertab does sing out of tune in some parts of the song; the "rap" bit was nothing brilliant and the dancers look at some points as if they are a group of children in a playground pushing each other. At least with Belgium you got good singing, good musicianship and a very original song. By the way, I am NOT Belgian.

I aggree that the best singer was Raphael. But I also believe it is a best song- not singer competion. I was in Europe for a short time in 67 when I heard the song for the first and last time until just 2 years ago. That song music and lyrics stayed in my head for over 40 years. I just finished listening to "Yo soy aquel" and I can't rememeber the melody, just the passion and quality of Raphaels' performance. Merci Cherie is memorable. And the reason for my comment was because I´ve been xploring the past Eurovision Song Contest editions and the best singer on 1966 in my opinion was Raphael, and this Udo man and his song didnt impress me at all.

Well.. in those days it was the custom that the host country organised the broadcasts but in conjunction with the participating countries- if I am correct. So- indeed it was "Babylon" but I must say that I find it more charming then the modern style of broadcasting and presenting Eurovision- not to mention the quality of the music.

Temazo? nunca entendí, sinceramente, cómo esta canción pudo quedar primera (con otros 3). He hecho el ejercicio voluntario de absorber con escucha atenta y repetidas veces la canción para ver si estoy equivocado en mi percepción. En otras palabras, busco algún referente de victoria. Agreed....but it's rather difficult to fully recreate the melody and the appropriate ambience effect of extreme vocal layering. In any given song in which she incorporates ethereal vocals, it's actually her voice layered dozens upon dozens of times with different mics as well. Enya and her team (Nicky and Roma Ryan) are the sonic DaVincis of their time. Though I feel their melodic and artistic quality might be slipping. Their last CD wasn't as good as their past CDs.

Enya is an awesome artist, but yeah, her right eye blinks different than her left eye, on this clip, she even seems to have her right eye pointing to a different direction. She does play all the instruments using a keyboard, that is why the violins sound is not obtained playing the violins in the traditional way but using the actual fingers on the strings. She composes all her pieces on piano and then she just adjust the sound to make it be a violin. She is unique on that.

Digan lo que digan, la cancion no estaba nada mal y la puesta en escena fue toda una revolucion. No hay mas que ver la cutre puesta en escena del 90% de canciones del 2001 para ver lo que hizo MArie N con su triunfo en 2002... que en 2003 hubiera un monton de puestas en escenas curradas y originales.Fue un ante y un despues. That's not really fair. This song wasn't terrible, nor was it the best - but it is a good Eurovision entry. I think the UK send a good mix of songs - not predictable and whether they get points or not, always add something to the night. You may have not liked Scooch for example but entries like that are part of typical Eurovision. Yes France usually enter a good song, but too don't score well. This years entry was one of my favourites - MURDERED on the night by terrible backing vocals.

Such a suprise that Switzerland won, since it was held in Switzerland, and there were now judges for Luxemburg, so they asked 2 Swiss people to be in the jury for Luxemburg.. And then Switzerland wins.. Again, WHAT a suprise! :) Nevertheless, absolutely great to see this. I can't believe this is how it all started. Such a difference from Eurovision nowadays. Oh My GOD! This is almost perfect! The performance should have been done without the men with flashlights. The dancing ballarina was great. Enya should do more shows like this. She is great all by herself. No need for back-up singers. Just get rid of those ridiculous boys and it'd be perfect!
