I know of a lot of good men who died in Vietnam, sir. The ones that did come back were addicts, or shell-shocked. These are all friends of my parents (who are conservatives, or mine) This song is actually more supportive of our troops and especially Vietnam vets than most people.

Having been born in 1975 and in the U.S., I never knew of this sing (Marianne Faithfull) until I saw an old episode of "Absolutely Fabulous". Having listened to several of her songs this past week, I am now hooked - she is awesome! This song is now among one of my all-time favorites (up there with Sigur Ros). I respect your opinion, groesion, but if you don't like her music then why did you open enter into here? (As for Nico, I just read about her but am surprised she was ever a model.)

lyrics=genesis when jim met pam in '66.. the drummer waits before shows line is in re to densmore drummer of doors who 1st met & chased pam.. dreamer of pictures & chasing the moonlight (mnlghtdrv) is neil going 3rd person via jim morr. view. morrison keep in mind was a film grad (pictures)& 1st song was moonlghtdr..10 silver saxes=organ w/ no bass player..key: buff springfield played w/ doors @ whiskey during this period in wh/ jim met pam. neil knew jim early & too was in love, but on outside.

Pam was so adorable! The Hollies should just admit that they actually wrote "Carrie Ann" about Marianne and Neil should admit that "Cinnamon Girl" was about Pam. Pam took off with Chris Jones of "Wild in the Streets" fame at one point, even showing up with Chris at a Doors concert-just to rub Jimbo's face in it. Chris was also good friends with Sharon Tate. Here's hoping that all is good with Chris and that Sharon and Pam have found peace.

Excellent work, I love the way the song goes along with Jim & Pam's love story. It also is somewhat apparent that Jim loved her more than she loved him, at least thats what I see in their eyes, after all, they are the windows to our souls...

I read in the Stephen Davis bio (NOT recommended!) that Cinnamon Girl was written about Pamela Courson and that Jim thought so, too. Neil Young, apparently has denied it. The song does fit, though! Thanks for posting this.
