He is playing a instrament he has been working on for years since 82 i believe. He calls it the Drumitar. There are many buttons down the neck each one makes a diffrent Drum noise. He can make it louder dependong on how hard he hits the button. So it is basically a drum set in a guitar type form. What he has said is that even on tour he is working on it to make it better. Since it was His invention people call him Futureman. His name is RoyEl. I hope that answered any questions you may have.

I think that George Hearn really rushed his lines. Johnny Depp at least took his time singing it. I think there are some things about the movie version that were better than this version. What's great about ST is that it can be interpreted in any way you'd like. The revival was completely different. Although this was written to be sung as operatically as possible, it sounds just as great if it's non-legit. Many stage performers, such as myself, were worried about how Johnny Depp would vocally perform it, but he pleasantly surprised us. To me, he was a rock star Sweeney, and I thought that it actually fit the role extremely well. Besides, I'm another lover of Johhny Depp! :D

I agree. The only reason his killing of Lucy is justified as believable in the movie was because the judge was coming and he had to get rid of her quick, he didn't have time to take a good look at her. Her appearing here, when he's calm and collected and him not recognizing her is just completley unrealistic. One doesn't harp over the loss of a loved one for 15 years not to recognize them when they reappear. Not to mention, he recognized her as soon as the light hit her face in the end.

Remember that the high-caliber musicians like the Flecktones have thousands of people who desire to have a piece of them, and I should agree with them in that of signing autographs and else... That is really exhausting, and even more after a concert... I don't know who you you are on about but I met Bela Fleck this Summer, It was my first time abroad ever and we had gone to Canada to see him at a music festival. Long story short I ended up meeting him and I wanted him to sign my banjo. there I was, meeting my hero, aged 14, first time out of England to near enough just meet him and he just signed it and turned his back to me to talk to this African bloke. The least I could have expected was "play me something" or a conversation!

Even though I've loved Helena Bonham Carter since the Merchant-Ivory days, I have to say the movie Sweeney was really jarring for me. But that's probably because I fell in love with this particular Angela Lansbury production, and especially the cast recording. The score was drastically altered for the film--not, in my opinion, for the better. But I completely agree--this is one of the most inspired and brilliant musicals ever produced. It's what first made me a Sondheim fan.

YEEAAAHHH!!! I FINALLY got to see these guys last Saturday night here in Honolulu for a sort of "Fusion Christmas" concert, and it blew me away! One of the best shows I've ever been to, easily. Virtuosity and exquisiteness was the theme of the evening, yet the carols didn't lose any of their sentimentality. It was something magical. They played "The Twelve Days of Christmas" in twelve different keys and twelve different time signatures! And man, the steel drummer is amazing in this, too!

1: I think this should have been a solo. Her voice is annoying and they don't match up good. 2: I think it was too fast. He should have slowed it down; embraced the notes. He should be in a trance-like stage to see his razors again, but it's like an "I want to get this done as soon as I can" mood in this version. I like both the movie and the live version for different reasons. Angela Lansbury is amazing, though I'd prefer her to be a little younger...and George Hearn is awesome too...his singing voice is better than Depp's I think....though Depp has a certain flair that George seems to be lacking (Not that I want the way they portray their characters to be the same.) George's down-and-out barber approach is every bit as good as Depp's more rockstar thing...(Dressing flashy and all that)They're both good

I love Elvis, such as his "How Great Thou Art." You are missing different styles. The Three Tenors had more range and I do feel they sing emotionally, and with more power than Elvis. This is vastly inferior to the best rendition by Elvis-- Elvis smokes these guys, who, compared with him, put virtually no emotion in the song and completely lack any nuance or feel.. Its as if Elvis lived it and these 3 guys are just singing words on a page. Elvis's version sends the proverberial shivers up the spine, while these three virtuosos leave one flat.

Love the three tenors. Thank you so much for moving posting. This is a great song Jan Peerce did it perfectly. Actually Pavarotti, athough a favorite of mine, sings less than Placido and Jose, who carry the song. Pavoritti was a slightly tenor, he could hit very high notes. But did not practice so much; love but not best of 3 on this.

I've only seen them twice, both times at the Blue Note in Columbia, MO. They put on a great show both times though. They were signed autographs after the show. The band was very friendly, I was totally impressed with the Flecktones.
