I haven't seen live performances exactly. However, my parents have rergistered a russian station into our TV. It sometimes shows live performances of singers, including Vitas. But yes when he sings that high, veins in his throat expand. Where I learned that, i'm not sure, because I learned it a long time ago.

I sing in a high falsetto (not near as high as Vitas, of coarse) And I can assure you that the shape of the mouth has near nothing to do with sound that comes out of it in that range. Its all in the back of the throat nearer to the nasal passage. Which also accounts for the absolutly strange "saw wave" sound that many people believe to be a voxcoder. but it I believe it is realy his voice. that type of technique is called whistle voice. a lot morre people can do it than one would think.

I totally agree with you! I went to see him live just last night, it was great! He was great!!! I really think there's some magic about him when he's performing and you are right there, he's got this wonderful charisma that so little people have, great performance skills as well! its ironic how hes telling her to smile even though inside hes hurting(its as if hes really speaking to himself)...also, he almost destroys her whole house but towards the end she returns and all is fixed..the only thing different is the word ulybris written on her bureau and the missing bird...im guessing the freed bird is a metaphor...it seems as though his feelings for her has caged him in...at the end he excepts that it is over...gotta love vitas!!
