actually, nintendo is currently trading at about double the price of soney shares, with 130 mill more outstanding,nintendo has reported anual operating margins of around 28%if anything, i would say it would be nintendo that has the money to do this

it will take a very long time for tech like this to work, 10 years may be about right with current rate of advancement, but probably longer. ths is of course, if a company is willing to invest into this. that depends on, how much money will it cost us, vs. future cash flows. the reason why this is iffy is because the future cash flows arn't known in this case. will it have an effect on advertising? maybe, probably, will the money it brings in be enough? nobody knows, thats a risky investment

using this to advertise would only work in the most dense metropolitan areas (think tokio, places like that) that being said it would be a HUGE capital expenditure, and the realised profit from it most likely just wouldn't be enough. think, a giant screen Vs this, you can't put it on a building, it would be too high, you can't put it on the ground, it's way to expensive to be near people. can it even be safe outside? what effect would the weather have on it? it has to be smaller/cheaper

this does have an amazing future, now you may not be able to use it very well sitting in FRONT of it.. but what about using it by interacting with it.. but on the, INSIDE? you know, flip it upside down, flip the images it's creating and you have a pyramid of complete 360 degree view... Think Exercising while gaming.. Or think Military training exercises!.. this is genius.

Think advertising. Think of one of these, 5 times bigger, with the new Ford pickup spinning in 3D. Or the new Nokia phone. Ok so it might not catch on in gaming in the next year or two, with it costing a zillion dollars or whatever it is, but in a decade's time there could be a smaller version of this in every room in your house.

i just can't see the practicality of this machine. it wouldn't work for gaming, not enough people would have the money needed for this kind of tech hell, who even has that much space in their living room? from a business perspective it wouldn't work, sure you could make a profit off of it if you marked it up high enough, but with so few people buying the damn thing you wouldn't be able to create the the community of third party developers and such needed to make it "the future of gaming"
