Is the angle of attack more shallow because the hips would be moving linearly towards the target longer which I assume creates an increase in the spine tilt to the right if you keep you upper body center stable or because the hips would not be turning in as much of a rotary fashion. Just curious because I wasn't sure if there was an optimum blend of the two or if they excluded each other.

Badds is not fully the model nor is this swing if your looking to do this type of swing. His arms are more out on the downswing. Peter says you need more drive?? Nope, his angle of attack is more shallow when he keeps it in and pushes his hips more forward without turning them too fast.

S/T is just horrible for the longer clubs, especially driver. have experimented with shorter irons, though and it can be scary good. I suppose if you want to hit thousands of balls to develop a feel and sense of timing with the woods, you might switch to this method. otherwise, if you are a somewhat decent player, stick with what you have.

one of my favorites

So is that why Bads went from having one of the best looking swings on TOUR to being statistically the worst ball striker on Tour. If he wasn't the best putter on the planet (Tiger included) he would be in the pro shop.
By: dickyball96. on 08 Oct 08, 21:54:44
Ok! If you find another view of his swing his head stays still and moves FORWARD during down swing. Everything is syncrinised!! can only be a good thing.I have never come across any injuries nor complaints of any pains. You do need good hip and lower back flexability for certain positions. If anybody is having knee problems they ought to see their professional because they're doing it wrong. All positions are relative to biomechanics which is how the body works, not how it doesn't.
By: UNCGolfer2009. on 08 Oct 08, 18:20:07
Yeah he is reverse pivoting. His weight never transfers to his right side, unfortunately that is the definition of the reverse pivot. his hips move forward but his upper body tilts backward as he hits the golf ball. Unfortunately he is also right this new method can lead to a lot of knee problems and torn ligements.

fellow golf nuts..stack and tilt is the real deal!! i've studied and played for 30 yrs..single digit hdcp..the dvd's are the best intruction i have ever seen and believe me i have seen them all..i learned from mac o'grady in the 80's and mike and andy have used the best of mac..golf machine and explained it all very well....GREAT STUFF!!!!!
By: mdogggggg7. on 05 Oct 08, 05:11:46
The Stack and Tilt Method Is Juat a Swing where u are centering your Body in the Take away and downswing, rather then moveing you weight to your right side on your back swing and your left side on your down swing (rand hand Golfer). You would be surprised all the great golfers of our time and the past have centerd there weight threw out the swing. Tiger woods, Jack Nikcelous, same snead etc. Ists a Common Move that the greats do. "stack and Ticl" is just a Label or Brand just to call it somethin

i hate stack n tilt gimmicks. use natural golf why dont ya. haha jk baddely does have a great swing
By: dickyball96. on 19 Sep 08, 19:50:00
Would you please define "reverse pivot" It's called staying centred. If he did reverse pivot he'd finish on his back foot. If you watch another angle he'll move forward through his downswing. NOT REVERSED PIVOT!!
By: lyn8027. on 15 Sep 08, 14:29:31
This stack an tilt method looks horid, especially the 'reverse pivot' backswing. The w/e golfer is going to come over the top of the ball.you will get alot of injuries with this movement!

wats stack and tilt?
By: hawkfish88. on 10 Sep 08, 18:41:12
what a swing
By: basfrk11. on 03 Sep 08, 04:27:35
ive used both and the stack and tilt is a little awkward at first but you cant refute the fact that contact is much more consistent and any good golfer will sacrifice some distance for better ball striking

Great swing. Powerfull and simple. You DO shift your weight with a S&T swing... only you shift continuously forward. It is very well explained in the S&T DVDs. Tips in magazines and videos are only that: tips. You have to see the DVDs to really understand the mechanics and see why it works. Because it does work. It's just a matter of preferences, how good you feel with a traditional or S&T swing... but worth trying to see which swing achieve better results for you.

So do I, after 12 years of golfing using Tiger as my model and developing a pretty wide arc with a lot of weight shift I can not really see how you can feel power when you are not shifting your weight. It's like a baseball pitcher throwing with out stepping towards home, it just doesnt make sense to me. But for those that can get it to work, all the more power to them.
By: hawkfish88. on 21 Aug 08, 18:29:22
ye i have tried it and thats why i dislike it. But to be fair i was pretty crap at golf when i tried it.

This guys swing is pure as hell. I am low handicaper and I am trying the stack and tilt, I love the short irons and i am learning the long irons. I think it works.
