I know some of the "McCartney" album was recorded at Abbey Road Studios. This HAD to be one of the songs recorded there, probally along with "Every Night." If you had to piece together a 1970 or 1971 make-believe Beatles album this song would definately be on there. Along with "What Is Life" by George Harrison, "It Don't Come Easy" by Ringo, and "Jealous Guy" by John.

I was not trying to argue with her. All I did was tell her what Paul McCartney said the song was about at a concert and then she took exception to it and started insulting me and going on some insane tangent about her "talents". I still don't get it. Talk to her about it, not me. The only reason I said anything, was because she tried to correct someone who actually had the right meaning to the song. Hi there,that's funny i got this album on CD three weeks ago after losing the cassette a few year's ago ! I've just had a look with a magnifying glass (yes the cd's just as bad)and can tell you that Jeff Lynne co produced eight of the songs along with Mccartney.He also played keyboard,electric,and acoustic guitar and of coarse backing vocal on those songs.I think the most obvious is The world tonight as they sing along together.I've always loved that Lynne sound Petty,George,orbison,ELO etc.

It's a matter of opinion, really. I personally like the dynamics... suddenly the song goes up-tempo and groovy. But it wouldn't have worked without the melodic part to set it up in the first place. I respect your opinion, though. At least you enjoy the best part of the song.

God bless your mum once again (from me)....I know that feeling. My mum's favorite was the Long and Winding Road. Paul's beautiful voice always brought a tear to her eye in that song. The Beatle's Phil Spector (Wall of Sound) version of course. Not sure why Paul didn't like that version of the Long and Winding Road. Paul liked his version without the strings but I think the strings enhance the song so much.

Actually , you're the one that sees it that way. You read about a corrupt member of a clergy ( any faith ) and condemn the whole . In the meantime you are totally blind and oblivious to centuries of dedication, silent noble lives of prayer and sacrifice, generosity, charity, good works , and so on , century after century . True Christians usually are more than willing to have a conversation and explain their point of view. Like I said, you must have been recently converted. What the hell does "I said I didn't believe in organized religion" mean . Think about the absurdity of that remark. Does it mean therefore that you believe religion should be " disorganised "? That people should turn up for services whenever they like, that clergy should not exist, or that a man could become a priest one day , then quit, if he doesn't like the hours . Can you imagine if say the army functioned this way. You are beneath contempt mate and not worth arguing with .
