Yeah man, i had heard a fair ammount of their stuff... and there was this girl who loved them who i teased her about it a lot. (cus i kinda liked her :-p). But then I heard 'this charming man' and was like 'THEY DID THIS'! Then instantly fell inlove with Jonny marrs fucking awesome guitar lines. Hes one of the few people i cant still play on guitar very well.. complex as hell. yeah so thats my story.

By far the best live version of this song here on Youtube! And the funny thing is that Johnny's guitar riff does not occur on the album version, there's a sort of synth thing instead, and also on Morrissey's live versions of the song. Tribute bands seem to skip that riff too. Which proves (once again) that there is only one man who can do it, and that man is Johnny Marr.

It was probably sweat picked up by the lights? I should know I've done thousands of gigs..Spitting is always done by idiots in the audience, not by the musicians on the stage...So what gives?

this is very memorable to me as I was at this gig in Glasgow Barrowlands, my friend Doreen (what a name) borrowed on of my shirts to wear and got up on stage - Morrisey spat on her and she was bundled off by the bouncers. I never got the shirt back either. It was also filmed for the tv show The Tube
